    ARod is a fucking animal...

Every team in MLB better fear ARod and Tex when they hit mid season form

What makes AROD an animal? A .154 BA and two homeruns? He is an overrated steroid abusing player who cannot hit in the clutch. Sure, he will hit home runs in a soft ball like NEW Yankee Stadium. BUT, so will the other teams. EVERY home run A-ROID hits in Yankee Stadium will be negated by the simple fly ball home runs to right field by the other team. He is nothing more than a wash as a player.

Good point Joe. Cool to come into the thread and call A-Rod not clutch after his Walk off homerun today. haha.

Which is more than we can say about your skills as a poster.

You're like a one-trick pony that completely sucks at its one trick.

I think he was implying in the playoffs.... a walk off HR against the Twins is nice but when you go 1 -44 or something awful like that when it really means something being called whatever he needs to be called is fitting. Now I'm not defending Joe in the least for trolling but lets be honest.....what has Arod done in the playoffs to earn the title clutch. This isn't Jeter of the late 90's we are talking about.....

    First of all... sample size.

Secondly, it's still pretty moronic timing on his part. And poorly executed. I mean, if he was alluding to his playoff stats, why precede that with his stats since he's been back this year?

And let's face it... A-Rod will face continuously moving goalposts for his "clutch" performances. If it's in the seventh inning, well, it wasn't in the ninth. If it was a walk-off shot, well, it wasn't in the playoffs. If it was in the playoffs, well, it wasn't as good as Jeter did in the playoffs thirteen years ago. But if he ever strikes out in the sixth inning with men on base and the Yankees losing, that just proves that he's not clutch.

If you take a step back and think about it, it's pretty ridiculous.

A-Rod had a game-winning HR today. And it was a legitimate bomb. By making that post when he did, JoeJet found an extra gear in the Stupid transmission.

If he was talking about the playoffs then he is a huge troll and an ass to bring that up in a YANKEES thread after A-ROD hits a WALK OFF HOMERUN. My caps button keeps going on and off. :)

He probably was trolling but he did bring up a very valid point. It's just the manner in which he brought it out. It's great he hit the walk off today and we've all seen it in the pst but every Yankee fan wants to see him do it in October not mid May.

Dude when you are the highest paid player in baseball and arguably the greatest player in baseball and of teh generation 45 playoff at bats is more than enough of a sample size. Did the guy even have a hit in the Tigers series a few years ago?

No. Statistical analysis doesn't care about contract size or perception. You can either account for the likelihood that variance is distorting the observed results from the expected, or you can't. This is true whether we're talking about Miguel Cairo or Babe Fucking Ruth. And the last forty-whatever postseason at bats are not statistically significant. Variance can easily account for his performance. Sorry, but this is not really debatable.

Now, if you mean that people are going to be more likely to judge him because of that contract or whatever, fine. That doesn't make their judgments any more sound.

Of course I missed all of yesterday's game. My son had a game at the same time. Glad to see Teixeira and Alex getting the job done the day after Melky.

Hopefully this team really has turned that corner.

A sweep would be pretty big right now. It's still the "top" of the AL Central, but any time you can beat first place teams it's a step in the right direction.

If we can sweep this series and take 2 out of 3 from Baltimore heading into our series with Philly I will be very very happy

Great pick by Pena to save an RBI. This YES gun is killing me, unless in fact Burnett does sport a 95 MPH curveball.
