It gets funnier by the minute...nuke them all and start over..nuke the stadium while you are at it.

""Joe Girardi said Joba Chamberlain suffered a popped blood vessel in his right thumb throwing a ball back into the infield during batting practice before last night's ugly loss to the Orioles. Girardi said while there was discoloration and Chamberlain was seen in the clubhouse with a wrap on the thumb, the pitcher should be able to start today. However, in case Chamberlain can't go -- and the way this season is going relating to injuries so far that's the way to bet -- Alfredo Aceves will take Chamberlain's spot. "

I don't know, Ecko said something about it, but you know that kid, gets more tail than a park bench, probably wasn't really paying attention because some cocktail waitress was smoking his sausage.

maybe teixeira is coming out of his slump?

having arod behind him definitely can't be hurting the pitches he's seeing too

noticed this last start, same thing happened today. In the first, he's throwing between 89-91 with his fastball, after that he's sitting between 94-96. Maybe he isn't pushing himself enough in warmups, but why the big difference?

    Velocities from gameday...

    1st inning average fastball: 91.6
    2nd inning average fastball:94.4
    3rd inning average fastball: 93.8
    4th inning average fastball: 93.8
    5th inning average fastball: 94.7
    6th inning average fastball: 93.9

Out of the 64 fastballs, here is the breakdown:
    89: 1
    90: 4
    91: 5
    92: 7
    93: 14
    94: 15
    95: 7
    96: 7
    97: 4

Same bullshit as most games this year, we get a medicore performance from our starter, were down by 1 or 2 in the 6th or 7th, then the pen comes in and it becomes a 5 or 6 run deficit.

Outside of the hr he gave up to Pena the other night, Coke has been pretty damn good. If Bruney can come back healthy we might be ok for the 7th and 8th innings at least.

Damon is in a contract year, so the Yanks hopefully let him walk...Anyway, nice win to comeback. Couldn't catch one pitch but nice to see Cano hit one.

I actually have no problem with what Huff did, he may have taken it a bit overboard, but its all in good fun.

If Joba is going to celebrate after a big strikeout (which i love), then why can't a hitter after a big HR? Granted, by staring down Joba when doing it, he made himself look like a bit of an ass, but the only reason he did it is because he got a hit off Joba, a damn good pitcher.

The differences with Joba's fist pump and Huff's are plenty. Joba turns his back to the batter and looks out into the crowd in raw emotion. Huff stares down Joba and it appeared very pre-meditated, no raw emotion involved
