~ ~ 8. New York Jets: New coach Rex Ryan should improve the defense after acquiring his handpicked helpers -- linebacker Bart Scott, safety Jim Leonhard, defensive end Marques Douglas and cornerbacks Lito Sheppard and Donald Strickland. The key to the offseason was trade that allowed the Jets to select Sanchez in the draft. Ryan can aid Sanchez's growth by letting Thomas Jones, Leon Washington and third-round choice Shonn Greene run the ball. The Jets are still looking for help at wide receiver and tight end.

Clayton must mean we still need a blocking TE because we got our receiving TE locked in with Keller.

He's saying we need anytype of TE.. but preferably a blocking one.. because keller is our ONLY TE right now.. we are tryin to convert a DL and a Cleveland St. Basketball player, (J'Nathan).. but we need depth.. so something needs to happen..

I still think we should have kept the Touchdown Maker. Now he will make them for Brady!

The offseason is not over yet. I expect our front office to do some more fine tuning to our roster. Other than WR and TE, we'll probably bring in at last one more DE, OT, OG and DB. You'll probably see other teams releasing some vets later this summer that we'll have in to check out.

BTW, Kelly - pls check your pm's. Thanks.

He must mean Blocking TE because Keller is going to be one of the best receiving TE's in the NFL. More then anything we could use a #1 or #2 receiver to go with Cotch, Clowney and Chansi.

I don't think he could be better than Antonio Gates, but he could definitely be pro-bowl caliber in later years

When losing Chris Baker is your worst mistake of the offseason you're having a pretty damn good offseason.

Once the rosters start getting cut down, I fully expect the other pieces to get slotted in

The offseason was good, but more people to protect our QB the better, either way keeping Baker would of been nice, he'd an extra offensive threat especially in the red zone, he had some nasty hands.

Not sure why they were so quick to get of Baker. Maybe, its was all the complaining about the contract and we were not gonna ever give me a new one. That and the salary cap issue must have been the reason.

In 07 Baker got 41 catches because KC kept throwing to him when he was running for his life. Look at the game by game stats for that year, before KC came in he wasn't having a year any different from the others. CB was just a JAG, the smallest DB on the other team could bring him down with just a scolding. No great loss.
