It's not for everybody - I listened to Identity Crisis and The Illusion of Safety religiously in high school...I saw them play live at least ten times. "To Awake and Avenge the Dead" is such a fucking good song. I understand what Dustin Kensrue and the rest of the band are trying to do with their music though - I think they're only getting better as time goes on. IMO, Vheissu is one of the best albums (of the genre) ever made. It's very different from what they've done in the past... but if you listen to the album as a whole, you'll realize how lyrically insane this band really is. Their new shit, The Alchemy Index (I-IV) is even more strange...and I'm willing to bet you hate it - but it's a musical masterpiece. All four sets on the album are amazing.

Great band...one of the only "punk" bands I still listen to (used to love that stuff in high school and just grew out of it). Right now, listening to The Gaslight Anthem. Amazing band in my opinion. Just saw them live this weekend at the Pony. Check 'em out.
