...was fucking awesome. Thandie Newton is a stone cold fox. I'd spock the shit out of that girl. EDIT: Oh my bad, Zoe Saldana was Uhura. I'd still give Thandie the ol' Vulcan Shocker, though.
they look similar, which means a threesome is nearly sex with twins status... Thandie Newton Zoe Saldana
I've always been anti-Trek, which I guess is strange, considering my adoration for the fantasy genre and Star Wars. I just could never get into Star Trek. Anyway, I really want to see this movie. The trailers look unbelievable, and Sylar is Spock!
Saw this last night at 7:40PM, the theater was almost empty, but I think it was because no one realized it was playing that early. Folks are used to midnight screenings the day of the release so we felt pretty lucky not having to wait in line and fight for decent seats. That being said, the move was awesome. I took my wife who hates all things Star Trek and even she loved it (some parts made her groan), and even agreed to see it with me again on IMAX this weekend!
Are you telling me you showed her the Vulcan hand salute...intimate style? Chicks always grown when you open it up.
Now that I think about it, the Vulcan salute *does* kinda look like the big brother version of "The Shocker"...hmm
Absolutely. There's a shitload of little trekkie in-jokes, but if you've never seen a Star Trek movie and generally don't like Star Trek, I still think you will enjoy this movie.
You should check out Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I think it is the best out of all the Trek series, amazingly written. One of my favorite all time shows. I think you would like it, right up your alley. As for the movie, I'm going to see it early next week.
It's not strange at all. A lot of people who love Star Wars actually don't like Star Trek, and then there are people who love Star Trek that hate Star Wars. I love both, but I'm told that it's actually more rare to like both than to love one and hate the other.
