Rookie LB Tyrone McKenzie tore his ACL at the Patriots' first offseason minicamp. He'll be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
McKenzie, the second of the Pats' two third-round picks, was slated to battle Tedy Bruschi for snaps at inside linebacker and help on special teams. The untimely injury happened in a non-contact drill. Bruschi's job is now safe.

WOOOO! That leaves one old-ass linebacker starting in the middle of their defense!

Stay classy Jets fans. A young player getting injured so early in his career isn't anything to crow about.

Maybe the Jets organization isn't desperate, but the fans certainly are.

Feel bad for the kid. McKenzie was always a real quality player for USF, tough to see him hurt in his very first practice as a pro.

indeed. While it puts a damper on the roster as a whole, its may put an end to a kids dream.

    nothing to cheer about.

hope the kid returns next year.... and shits his pants when he plays the Jets and all other AFC East rivals

It's wrong to cheer such an injury. This kid looked like a late-round steal.

We can hope that his career never takes off after this early injury, but it's wrong to laugh about this kid getting hurt.

Hey, I'm not worried about the team. There's no way to know if he'd have had any impact as a rookie.

I feel bad for the kid. The Pats rarely throw their players into the fire first year (Mayo exception, high pick). So if the kid gets healthy he'll have a year under his belt learning the system.

Jets fans as a collective society suck and deserve nothing until we change how we think and feel about our team.

Meh, What can you expect on a Jets board? Sure it's wrong to laugh/cheer for it, but Pats fans can't really expect opposing fans to feel bad.

Sucks for this kid, but hopefully he is young enough to get back at it in time for camp next year. if there is any good news on it at all (and there isn't much), it's that he has a lot of time for rehab.

    Get better TM!

This is what happens when a kid tries to play a sport with men.
