I've been contemplating the season and now feel that we must have one offensive threat that keeps the defense honest. This is Ocho. Imagine, the typical set: Ocho Cotch Keller LW Shonn Then, 3 wr: Ocho Cotch Clowney Keller Shonn (he'll learn how to block, I'm pretty sure) The 4 WR: Ocho Cotch Clowney Keller split wide or (spacing on his name, the kid who got injured in spring two years ago--every knows who I'm talking about) LW With our OL, this offense is as bad as air coryell! We must have a WR who other teams account for. Ocho is the best choice.
With his off-the-field antics and locker room presence of a cancer, Ocho Stinko sure can turn this franchise to 5-11 in no time. NO THANKS.
I just don't see our offense stressing any defense as things stand. Ocho would ease up everything merely because the D has to account for him. This gives Clowney, Keller, and Cotch much more opportunity.
ill take cotch/clowney/stuckey. chad johnson is not very good anymore, if his mouth ever closed he would already be considered JAG by pretty much everyone.
he's gonna stay in cincy, have a 1000 yd 8 td season with carson palmer back and he's gonna be happy again or he wont i dont really give a shit
Lewis has stated over and over he is Not getting traded. Stuckey will be a good one given the chance. I saw alot of him play down here, he has the tools. We might be better off at WR then alot of folks are saying. Coles didnt do alot when he first was drafted, same thing with Cotchery. Lets see what Stuckey and Clowney can do before tossing up the "give up" flag.
If you haven't deciphered Marvin Lewis's comment yet: Marvin says: Chad Johnson is staying in Cincinnati. What he means: Ocho Stinko, I will tolerate you only until I can REPLACE you.
i swear most of this board is made of total fools or hypocrites. all i hear from most everyone leading up to every draft is how its best to stockpile low round picks and develop talent. the jets have been trying to develop clowney/stuckey and obviously have at least some confidence in their abilities or they would have signed one of the vets still available. i wish everyone would step back and at least see how the offense flows as is before throwing the red flag.
he wasn't great last year, when his quarterback was injuired before that he has 6 great years, he had a very good season in 07 he's got a big mouth and acts like a diva, but that pretty much goes hand in hand with a good WR these days
ill give some blame to not having palmer. ill give more of it to having no heart, and he is getting old.
Your sig says "Give Clowney a chance" yet you seem to think Ocho Cinco is the answer to the Jets 2009 season. I know Ocho was hurt last season but he is an aging WR. We could have kept Coles remember? You also omitted Thomas Jones from any of your offensive situations. The Jets are going to be a runinng team. Ocho Cinco is not the savior of the New York Jets.
in the interview a week ago with darelle revis on nfl.com, he was asked who was the hardest wide receiver he's ever gone up against and he responded with chad ocho cinco chad johnson is a dangerous wr, and he's only had decreased production because palmer got hurt and they were using fitzpatrick at qb. he would help our team tremendously. people keep saying he's a cancer/off the field antics.....can i get an example? the only thing i know is hes crazy enough to change his name to ocho cinco, doesn't mean hes an ahole oh yeah, and revis has manned randy moss 4 times, and he still said ocho cinco
the only thing that will win this team 11 games is the man behind center. Not a flashy WR Good QB play keeps a defense honest. If they don't respect you, they aren't staying honest.
Ocho isn't a cancer or a distraction or a liability or anything.. it's all an act. He's still one of the best receivers in the league and could definitely make a difference here, but I don't think Cinci's going to let him walk.
B.Edwards> Chad Johnson hands down... if the Jets are going after a WR .... it better be Edwards over Stinko Shito
