Jets should make this trade in a heartbeat, and I'll even concede the adding a 3rd rounder to it.

    Kidding?
After only having 3 picks this draft , you want to start giving them away again ???

You guys have no idea what you are talking about.

Theres no way in hell the Jets move our offensive MVP right now. NO WAY! Rex wants to run a hard nose, run the ball down you're throat offense. Sorry guys, but Leon and Green do not equal that. TJ is a HUGE key to Rex Ryan and what Rex Ryan wants to run here offensively.

Its not happening, just stop with the TJ being cut/traded talk. Please.

And how would we run the ball? Leon is not an every down back, and Green is a rookie who will be learning from TJ this year. Its not happening.

yes, Rex endorsed trading up to get a back simply to compliment TJ. I am confident in asserting Rex Ryan isn't a short-sighted guy, and knows TJ has dwindling value, and if you can trade him for a player who has a career of value ahead of him, even if that means suffering in the short-term of this season, he'd do it in a heartbeat.

I know, it simply isn't possible that a rookie can be a good back. how has any RB ever been successful without TJ to teach them.

Runningbacks come into the NFL and light it up there first year all the time. It's the easiest position to make the transition from ncaa to the nfl. He doesn't need to learn from TJ.

I'm the biggest Braylon hater on here and I'd do TJ for BE straight up. I would be willing to include Brad Smith too, and I like him.

I think the problem is money though.

When you want to run the ball down people's throat, and use a power running system you dont go with Leon and a rookie RB, I dont care who that rookie RB is.

I agree in principle... but you also have to look at the value... TJ and a 2nd for Edwards is a STEAL!!! You can also throw in B. Smith...

Having said that if we have to give away more I'll much rather go with TJ staying here

Its not like we have a QB that is going to go right in a light it up (i would love that to happen, but lets be real, there is a big learning curve).

So instead we will be a power running team, which Rex has already said he wants. No where in a power running game do you need a stand out WR.

We have our power running back "team" and a young QB with a few good targets (Cotch, Keller, Clowney) when called upon.

This is exactly what Rex has stated he wants.

jones value in general may not be that high

but his value to this team is second to none, if you want this team to be successful this year you don't even think about trading him

if you want to have a high first round pick next year that we can take a running back with, then great, trade him

I love TJ but at 31 the # of productive years he has left are fewer then Edwards would have.
Edwards does have his issues but this is a pretty good deal for us.

If its Jones, Smith and a mid round draft pick for him then it'd be a pretty tight deal

Ok, and you're point? Wether its TJ or our coaching staff, he stil has to learn how to run the ball in the NFL in 4 months in order to be ready to take on 40-50% of our running game. Which will be a big running game.
