Its simple put up or shut up. you believe so much in Jets running game. Lets make the bet. Jets runniung game can't even compare to the raiders. Your talking about a diffrent kind of running backs both teams possess. Im telling you don't make the bet because your goling to lose. Its a sucker bet in my favor bigtime. anything you want to go by Total rushing yards or average yards per carry for the team.
Oh BTW Jeaux remember that bet we made in the Bart Scott thread about how you thought no rookie or any qb from jets current roster would be the QB this season and that'd we sign a veteran qb and he'd play? Well looks like you lost that bet. So I would gladly bet Joe but you'd lose again like your previous bets
How many times do i have to repeat the same stuff. NO WR not even M crabtree would have a bigger impact on Raiders offense than DHB. Crabtree and Maclin both played in a gimmick offense and need alot of work on their route running. DHB all he has to do is stretch the field.(run real fast down the field. ) When you 6'2 210 with sub 4.3 speed , a defense has to give a CB help over the top with a safety. OR play there CB about 10 yards off DHB because he will simply run away from him. (Speed kills) All Dhb has to do is catch a few deep balls and he will open up the rest of the offense. 1 Get the safeties out of the box so they can run the ball consistantly, open up the middle for TE zach Miller to exploit. Miller had more 20+ receptions than any te in football 16. Easily coulds be 25 with DHB stretching the field. D Mcfadden coming out of the backfield(has reciever skills) Go ahead and put a LB or safety on him. By stretching the field with DHB , you open alot more area for Mcfadden to exploit.(tough for a defense to cover him with that much empty space. BTW last point Raiders wildcat blows the Dolphins wildcat out of the water. Way more explosive unit.
Question Jeaux. If his speed was so ridiculous, why didn't it translate to great success at the college level?
Easy same reason Randy Moss didn't translate so well in oakland. A Wr no matter how great he is is ,still depended on a Qb getting him the ball. Maryland Qb were a joke. Maryland Oline wasn't the best either . Also another fact while Crabtree and Maclin were playing in gimmick offenses , Dhb was playing in a run first offense. You reverse the condidtions and DHB might have put up better numbers.
Yea you wish you had that shitty QB, Jamarcus Russell put his numbers up playing in the toughest conference in america. (sec) Im sorry the Pac 10 is not the sec.
ROFL. I'm glad we don't have JR... Good thing every good college QB turns into a great NFL QB... Idiot... JR is both unproven, and unfit for the NFL. Secondly, I didn't mention our quarterback, we're talking about the Raiders inability to get your new "star" receiver the football. I didn't say anything about the Jets. I'm happier having Sanchez than Russel at the moment, but Sanchez too is unproven right now.
Yea your glad you don't have Jamarcus Russell. Just like your glad your franchise hasn't won a championship or played in a championship game for over 41 years. Yea If I had Jets QB situation, I would keep my mouth shut too. What proof that you have that Russell can't get the ball to raiders star reciever. There isn't a throw Russell can't make in the NFL. OF course your happy you have sanchez, than russell now. Its easy when they aren't playing any games. You can fantasize all you want. Come september your going to have alot diffrent opinion. Thats when reality sets in. OH well The Jets should have waited till there was a franchiuse Qb ,than reach for a QB, in a very down year for QBs.
Career Stats for JR Completions 235 Attempts 434 Yards 2796 Completion % 53.9 Yards Per Attempt 6.44 TD 15 INT 12 Sacks against 37 QB rating 73.9 Nice stats.... 53% completion.... only 6 yards per attempt... Dude is elusive too! whew!
Means nothing . ONE when your Olline (the tackles especially couldn't block anyone) and your WR corps was depleted due to injury. Lets see as a Qb you have one of two choices. Force the ball into double coverages(Hello Brett favre) or throw the ball away. So you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that your completion percentage not going to be that high.(only can do what you can) It wasn't concidence that Russell numbers improve dramatically the last eight games(high sixty percent completion percentage) when the Raiders inserted Mario Henderson at LT. Your QB gets more time and he going to be able to make more plays. For example you saw what tom Brady did in the superbowl two years ago when the Giants front seven were putting some serious pressure on him. (what he forgot how to play the game) It was no coincidence that matt Ryan and Joe Flacco were able to come in and suceed vedry early. Both had olines to protect them and a consistant running game for them to lean on. (this game is not that hard to understand)
^ And yet, with all of these struggles the Raiders have had - which haven't allowed JR to flourish - each year Joe predicts the Raiders will be successful and have better a record than the Jets. So Joe either moronically thinks the Raiders, despite their problem areas, will be good; or he's really dumb and doesn't see the issues they have, thus thinking the Raiders will be good.
But last year, right around this time, you were on here telling us how great the Raiders running game would be, and how much better of a team they were, etc.
Jeaux you do know the raiders have one of the worst offenses in football for basically the last 6 years. I'll admit that it really can't get worse, but do you really think the raiders are on the verge of becoming a dominant offense after basically being in the bottom in the nfl in scoring?
Joe this season is either put up or shut up...if your team goes 4-12 again then you really just should leave this board forever
Yes You look at all the components on offense(How young they are) Its only a matter of time, when they have one of the most explosive offenses in all of football. Will it be 2009 or 2010 is more the question. Btw what JUets have on offense. They possible will have the worst offense in football in 2009.
Raiders Running game should have, if injuries didn't happen. Again IF Mcfadden was healthy there is a good chance Raiders might have won the AFc West. J fargas missed alot of games also due to injury. The loss oF FB Oren Oneal was a big blow to their offense. Raiders had their Running game working and it would have made Jamarcus Russell job alot easier.
