I don't know, but I'm sure you'd find a way to hate them. The baseless hatred of Sanchez is just as tired and unnecessary as the anointing. What's wrong with being excited about the new QB? This is a great kid getting an opportunity to play in the NFL, and he's starting off on the right foot by making the most of that opportunity. Better yet, he's emphasizing the team concept and realizing that his own success is dependent on those around him, so he'd better get everyone on the same page. It's hard for a person not to get behind him unless he's already made up his mind to hate him.

You're right. Another QB came in and impressed the coaches with his instant desire to succeed and his work ethic. If not for his physical limitations and injury history, he'd have likely taken his team to the Super Bowl. Are you saying you don't want a guy with the intangibles of Chad Pennington and a pro set of physical tools? Sanchez is getting the same treatment and making the same impression that Chad made 9 years ago. The difference is, Sanchez has a higher upside when it comes to the physical side of the game.

And no, I don't recall reading that Pennington did the same thing. I'd love it if you found that. By all accounts, he was more of a private study when he first came in. I do assign higher points to a guy who goes out of his way to bring in a bunch of guys who aren't exactly Thomas Jones for a meeting. Sanchez knows he'll make the roster, and yet he's determined to make an impression right away. What's more, he's helping a group of guys whose future is far from guaranteed make the impression they need. He didn't have to reach out to the UDFAs. I'd rather have him than a guy who only reaches out to his stars or, like Favre, doesn't reach out to anybody.

As far as the "acting the same as Favre" idea, I wasn't a fan of the trade when it first went down. I wasn't a fan until he started winning, and even then I wasn't sure it was the right move for the team. I'm a fan of this kid, though.

Guys, there is no point responding to any of alleycats posts about Sanchez. Seeing his post in another thread it's obvious he just has a problem with the fact we have a hispanic qb who will be leading this team. Ignorance can not be cured.

as of right now, it doesn't get any more ignorant than posts like these.

you don't have to kiss his ass, but it has to at least register that this is the formula that all special players have done.

when the fuck do the Jets get players that are reported to do these things?

this is the time for blind optimism anyway - its one week after the draft. get over it.

What are Jet fans supposed to do? Complain about getting one of the better QB's prospects in the draft? If people are still Jet fans after all these years without winning a SB one thing we have learned is to be at least optimistic before the pre-season starts. Just like the Farve signing it brought hope to Jet fans and if you don't have that why bother?

NFL coaches and the press work in a world were they are basically hanging out with young men wearing tight uniforms working out all the time. Kind of similiar to a priest. They are homo's and for homo's there is nothing wrong with drooling over the new hot young buck in the stable.

That is a great article! I hope I am wrong about Sanchez' lack of experience.... I would love to see the Jets on top of the division this year!! I think Sanchez is doing all the right things to be the starter this year... it will fun to watch him develop!

I'm sorry, your the one who highlighted the size issue. That makes it you the one who's brining it into question on the thread. So I went ahead and posted why thats one of the dumbest reasons one could come up with for his failure. For someone being "the man" your sure do not know a whole fuck of a lot about QB's.
