2 in 3 apps for us which brings me to another point. The ONLY Jets QB to win a playoff game in 2 different playoff years. I am glad you guys loved having Favre and missing the playoffs.

In 2006 and 2008 Chad helped get teams to the playoffs that had no business being there, then gets slammed when they got beat by better teams. Once again, damned if you do and damned if you don't. Anyone who doesn't win the Super Bowl sucks and their fans are defending mediocrity. Ok.
That doesn't change his career 2-4. I don't care how his lackluster playoff record compared to historical Jets QB's looks. It's insignificant to me. I didn't love watching the Jets miss the playoffs last year. My only reason for even commenting to begin with was to say the collapse wasn't entirely on him. Any reasonable person without an agenda would agree. Viva La Sanchez!
Again, we played in a division w/ a DYNASTY team w/ by far the best QB of this generation. The SB wasn't really realistic, he helped this team maximize it's potential.
What are you talking about? The 2006 Jets won their final game to get in and so did the 2008 Dolphins. I was at both games, saw it with my own eyes. Both went on to play far superior teams in the playoffs, where nobody in their right minds thought they would be at the beginning of the season. But hey, they lost in the playoffs so the QB must be garbage.
Excellent point. he guided teams that were 4-12 and 1-15 the previous years w/o him to 10-6 and 11-5 records and postseason apps.
I was 100% behind the Favre trade right from the minute it was a possibility. Towards the end of the season when it became obvious that the trade was an utter failure I still believed it was the right move to make at the time. It gave us a chance to catch lightning in a bottle with a HOF QB or in the worst case scenario and it failed(which happened) we would be forced to move on and finally upgrade the QB position, which we ended up doing with the best QB prospect in the draft. I am 100% certain that we would have won the division last year without Favre. I am also 100% positive that we would have flamed out in the playoffs and been in the same position in regards to the QB position as we have been since Mangini took over, who BTW would still be the HC. I like the direction this team is headed in, it was all made possible by the trade for Favre and his impending failure.
His team was favored to win ONE of his playoff games so actually he's ahead of the game. But if favre is great, at least much better than Chad, and he had more talent than Chad's team why couldn't Brett finish better than 2 games behind Chad's team?
It's not just the fact that the Jets lost. Take into account how ineffective the QB position was in those losses and that's where our beef is. If Penny was carrying his own weight and others just couldn't get the job done it would be a different story. That wasn't the case, in fact the opposite was true at times.
And even though they won..I wasn't there, I saw it on TV.....they needed help. Luckily they got it. P.S. Fat chicks are people too.
