This argument has already been made, but you must have missed it. With lesser talent and Pennington leading the team the Dolphins won the division. You think we would only have had 5 or 6 wins with Pennington as our QB with better talent than the Phins had? Are you serious?!?!
Agreed ANd our improvment last season had more to do with Jenkins then Favre. Edit - and a better Oline
You must be a lot more optimistic then I am...I was going to say 4 wins, but I figured Jenkins and Pace were worth 2 wins. The o-line would have gotten destroyed with-out the passing threat Favre carried.
We need a new forum just to argue about players that no longer play for the Jets. <- Can't wait until there is actual football news. I should drive up to the minicamp tomorrow....
How do you explain Miami going from 1-15 to 11-5 and AFC East champs with "Noodle Arm" at QB? He took 2nd in MVP voting, somebody must have thought he had something to do with it.
Dude, it fucking happened, 20 rows in front of me, in fact. I was actually hoping it wouldn't, but it did.
Where did Pennington finish in the 2002 MVP Voting? I'm only asking because he had similar numbers. I say, he finished 2nd in the MVP because that team won 10 more games then the previous season, and somebody had to be held responsible. I think, a rookie LT, a guy named Porter and a guy named Parcells had more to do with this then Noodle. But, we're all entitled to our opinions.
Ah, we're playing junc's WHAT IF game. Here, I'll go: If Chad had remained with the Jets and started in 2008, he would have had a season-ending noodle injury by week 4.
I don't know if he got any votes but he deserved votes taking a team that was 1-4, 2-5 and winning a division title. The only non-Pats AFC East title in a year Brady played.
It's amazing what happens when you make your quarterback a secondary offensive player, huh? I have to admit, not featuring their QB as an impact player was pretty smart, even for the Phins.
good comeback He wasn't our featured guy when he was here either, Curtis was. The only problem I have ever had w/ Chad is his durability, when he's healthy he wins.
Except against elite defenses that can stop a running game well enough to expose his weak passing. Which pretty much includes all elite defenses, including the ones we lost to in the POs with Curtis in the backfield. Which is why he can't do it in the playoffs.
Yeah, it's not like he ever put up 41 points in a playoff game or ever won at Foxboro or anything. Wait...
