As many of you will recall, Bill Cowher pulled out of his interview with the Jets after feeling scorned when finding out that Woody Johnson wouldn't be attending his meeting with Mike Tannenbaum. I hope that Bill Cowher was having dinner at a nearby table with his CBS employers while Mark Sanchez attracted the undivided attention of the Jets complete ownership and coaching staff. I hope he realizes that he's the one that blew a great opportunity not us. I hope he has to talk on national television all season about how Rex Ryan is exactly the head coach the Jets needed and made the right choice in hiring him. I hope when he gets home from his gay CBS schmuck job he sees his daughter who he supposedly retired for, wearing a Jets jersey.
I don't think Cowher is interested in coaching anymore dude...he gets paid to talk about football on TV...dude's got it made
Has nothing to do with Sanchez. It has to do with the fact that I truly feel he thinks the Jets blew their chance with him. The fact that our whole staff, including Woody, dined Sanchez, hopefully makes Cowher think to himself... "Ohh maybe I wasn't as sought after as I thought I was" and "Ohh maybe I shouldn't have been so full of myself" and "maybe I should shave this toolbag moustache".
I understand where you're coming from ace, but you know he'd be kicking himself if the Jets go to the Super Bowl.
What a bitter thread. I'm glad we got Rex instead of Cowher. Cheaper. More to proove. Brought over Bart Scott and Leonhard. Who would Cowher have brought?
I'm sure, and honestly if you look at it from an objective standpoint we were a very attractive opening for a lot of head coaches. We have (and had at the time as well) a lot of talent on the roster and an owner who isn't afraid to spend. That's why I think he's not interested in coaching. That, and he wanted full control over personnel decisions But you're right, if we do have a very successful season he might reflect on it for a moment, especially since we were able to get a potential franchise QB.
Ok.. I'm happy with our situation now. Rex has a fresh perspective and a great defensive mind; I'm eager to see what he'll bring. I honestly didn't want Cowher to begin with.
Why do you care about Cowher so much? He wasn't coaching this year, it almost certainly had nothing to do with Woody being out of town. wow.
I didn't mean to come off sounding like a psycho or anything. You just become very bitter and defensive when you are a Jets fan with family and friends that are all Giants fans. I can't be the only fan on here who reacts to good Jets news by rattling off a list of people who can go fuck themselves. Anyways, Cowher and his Geraldo Rivera moustache can go fuck himself.
The New York Jets have announced that they will do whatever it takes to hire Bill Cowher as their next Head Coach.
make fun of cowher all you want, but the dude gets paid to do what we do on this message board. and most of us come here to get away from work/school. his work is what we consider a break from work. dude lives a good life.
this is a dumb thread. rex ryan is our coach. bill cowher is an after thought. who gives a shit about bill cowher or what he thinks at this point? unless you have some secret desire that cowher ends up coaching us. it'll never happen. we got a good thing in ryan
