oh forget comebacks dude...havent seen those in 5 years. our late inning at-bats are our worst of the game ususally.
Can we get a Centerfielder? Its been 3 years. Can we get one reliable reliever besides Mo? Its been, what? 5 years? Its the same fucking formula every year. I just dont get it.
All kids shut us down tonight. Why? Because their pitching prospects are actually good and our are either overrated or non-existent. Again, its on Cashman. The organization sucks right now. How many more years do we have to hear about HUghes? Anyone else? Gardners been really impressive so far no? Oh but Cashman was able to sign Tex! What a genius! Who had ever heard of this guy before??? not me...and for only 180 million and still he talked this guy into coming here! Fuckin genius GM....
satisfied jonnyd? Nice 2 inning debut for Melancon, good first inning and working in and out of trouble in his 2nd
Holy shit, dude. It's not even a month into the season, and they haven't had their best player on the roster yet this season. You're acting like they're 4-14 or something.
Can't wait to see Hughes again on Tuesday. (ugh) Yankees look old and tired. No punch tonight at all. How about developing the next young catcher? Jorge, I luv ya, but it's time to hang 'em up.
and if they were 4-14 you'd find some stat from some web site that said 4-14 is right where you want to be:smile:
maybe I am wrong. Fatcesa just opened his show saying exactly what I said about the difference between the kids we call up and Boson's kids. Wow, fatman is RIPPING Cashman. Deservedly so of course, second worst GM in baseball
I have always wanted to see Joba start, but if Hughes pitches well i think we should put Joba in the pen when Wang comes back healthy. This pen is a freaking joke. Hopefully Bruney will be back soon, Coke has looked decent lately. But Veras and Ramirez blow, and Marte is a joke.
Stats don't come from websites... they come from the games. It's not about the objective stats, though. That's not the issue. It's about expectations. The Yanks aren't in bad shape right now. People put unnecessary weight on a Boston road series because... well... I don't really know. Because it's the first time they've faced off this year and, boy howdy, them Yankee fans really wanted to show those Sox fans what for. Or something. I don't know. They think it's time to freak out. Baseball seasons don't work like that. They never have. The Yanks have won it all with mediocre starts out of the gate, and had fantastic beginnings to seasons with lackluster results. It's a long season. Melancon came in tonight and pitched well. Pettitte was hurt by a couple of errors and a stupid play on the basepaths, but otherwise pitched well. At the end of the season, that will get the Yanks more wins than losses. It might hurt more coming against "TEH RIVAL!!" especially after hearing Jon Miller suck off the Sox, and especially after two brutal losses, but that's all this series was -- three losses. And if tonight means Melancon replaces Ramirez/Veras, then that's a very good thing. I'm not saying I enjoyed the series or anything, but I don't think it's Pollyanna-ish to say that the Yanks aren't in bad shape. Once they get A-Rod back, they'll be much improved. And if/when they get Bruney/Wang back, they'll be even more improved. Now if the Yanks are ten games back by June 1st, well... that's a different story. But I'm not sweating a road series in April, given the circumstances.
They're both a few years away, but two extremely promising catching prospects: Jesus Montero Austin Romine Montero might outgrow the catcher position and be forced to switch positions, but his bat will play well no matter what position he plays.
