This thread is for UDFA signings. We should be hearing word in a couple of hours of some signings. I'll post them as soon as I get any.
Thanks W. I heard Mr. T on ESPN talking about the draft and then he stressed that because they drafted so few bodies that he had 15 openings for UDFAs. Joked that he was doing an "infomercial" to try to attract the best ones with the pitch that fewer draft picks mean more opportunities with the Jets. Hope it works and we can uncover some depth/developmental guys.
Let's hope we get some good signings. Disappointed that a few good players went at the very end of Rd 7: T Underwood Marko Mitchell Dan Gronkowski
We got a blocking TE Andrew Davie from the Arkansas Razorbacks.... he is 25 but he blocked for Felix Jones and Darren McFadden so at least he should know how to play He's an ex Baseball player http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Davie

Jets | Westerman agrees to terms Comment (0) Sun, 26 Apr 2009 19:10:17 -0700 The New York Jets have agreed to terms with undrafted rookie free-agent DE Jamaal Westerman (Rutgers). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
We signed Zach Potter, DE from Nebraska. At 6'7, 280 lbs this is a very good pick up for us. He can become a very solid 3-4 DE. He had 46 tackles, 12 TFL, 5.5 sacks, 5 QB hurries, 7 PBUs and 2 INTs last year.
Zach* (I know you knew that man...) Where's your boy Lee Robinson? Also, Rashad Jennings in the 7th round? (...just messing around - the draft's always a toss up)
Yeah I knew his name, I've done that quite a few times with him over the season. I don't know why I keep thinking his name is Kyle. RB was far from a big need this year, although I was certainly surprised he fell to the 7th. Same goes for Robinson going undrafted. Hopefully Robinson makes a good choice and decides to sign somewhere thin at LB so he can compete for a starting spot down the road. Atlanta would be a good spot for him since they are looking to incorporate the 3-4, as would the Jets, Ravens, 49ers. He can really go anywhere since he has the flexibility to play in any scheme. What about Jarron Gilbert falling to the 3rd round? Almost as surprising as Duke Robinson falling to the 6th.
IMO, Potter is the only UDFA signing so far that has a good chance to make the team. Potter can be a decent player for depth on the line. Seems to be versatile and can play multiple positions. Looks like there isn't much left as far as blocking TEs and WRs. I'm not too excited about the rest of the Jet's FA signings.
I was hoping Callahan could help us get Potter. He was one of the highest rated guys left that has 34 DE size.
T.J. Conley, Idaho Height: 6-3. Weight: 220. Projected Round (2009): 6-7. 1/15/09: T.J. Conley had one of the best punting averages the nation has seen in a while (47.4). 47.4 is impressive, hopefully he can beat out Hodges.
The Green Bay Press-Gazette reports the New York Jets have signed undrafted rookie free-agent TE J'Nathan Bullock (Cleveland State), who was a former basketball player. Stockpiling the undrafted TEs.
