I think the Giants, Broncos and Detroit did unbelievably well in this draft( I know they all had a ton of picks, but they got some players I thought would be stars, especially the Broncos) Think the raiders blew it and so did the Dolphins( and I rarely say that about Parcells). The Pats draft was nuts, its almost like they don't want the picks. I know they got 2 second rounders next year, but they do that shit every year.
I disagree with the Broncos and Lions, I thought the Packers really addressed their needs and the Giants did pretty well lets just all agree that the Raiders had the worst draft
I'm guessing you meant "Assessing"... Sorry, not trying to be a dick, but the thread title was really confusing.
As said, the Giants killed the draft in my eyes. Filled some needs and got some big-time talents. I disagree with Denver, as you need to take into account the fact that they killed their next year's draft by giving up so many picks.
The eagles quietly had an amazing draft.....the only pick i can argue with is lesean mccoy, they need a bruiser and mccoy is not that guy....
I love the talent they got in the first 2 rounds. They got my favorite offensive and defensive players in this draft. Moreno could catch 50 balls this year in that O. Ayers could be a nightmare in a 3-4.
I don't care who the Broncos drafted, there will be so much quality in the draft in 2010, way more then they got out of this very weak draft class. They literally gave up just about their entire 2010 draft already. Stupid, stupid, stupid move. They will regret all those trades this time next year.
Where did i ever say that. Nobody knows how well there team did in the draft this week. Laughable that these so called draft experts try and put a grade on how a team did. Only time will tell what grade you can put on this draft.
I think the Eagles and Giants had the best drafts in terms of the old school "BPA/Best value" philosophy. Also..from a non fan perspective..I really respect what Tanny and the jets did....no way to polish a turd...which this draft class was.Go quality over quantity.
Don't worry Mr. E. If the raiders actually had a good draft, and someone had given them any grade other than an F, he would be throwing it in our faces. He is only saying that because 10 million graders gave the Raiders F's. Heck if we had gotten F's and the raiders A's he definitely would be throwing it in our faces.
I'm not a fan of draft grades. I can say with out reservation....the Raiders reached for their 1st two picks. It isn't about DHB's & Mitchell's abilty, or lack of ability...it's all about VALUE. The Raiders reached for both of these players and overvalued their draft status. No one knows if they are going to be great players, maybe they will, but they were drafted too high. Raiders could have tried to trade back and get more picks...that's how a good GM would have handled the draft.
Do you know Raiders didn't try and trade back(even though thats has never been AL Davis MO in the first round) With the Qbs gone nobody wanted to go to 7 (your talking about alot more guarantee money) Its easier said than done. Raiders wanted DHB and he was there pick a month before the draft. He wasn't making it to their second round pick so, you believe in a player, you stand by your convictions. (this is the Raiders board and not your Board WW85) Also Raiders did trade back in the second dropping from 40 to 47 picking up a fourth and sixth rounder. Raiders couldn't go back any further because Bears would have taken the safety two spots later.(Source Chicago tribune and Raiders safety who confirmed the Bears told him if he was around in second he was there pick. (you did notice how fast bears traded down after Raiders picked him. Bears gM still won't confirm it, but there action after Raiders took the safety speak for themselve.http://ind.scout.com/a.z?s=113&p=2&c=859415 IF Both Players turn out great no one will give a darn where they were drafted. Thats just silly. BTW DHB made the most sense for Raiders because hes going to have the most impact for their offense. He dosen't have to run alot of routes. All he had to do is threatning a secondary deep (force a team to give safety help deep) and he opening up areas Raiders would like to exploit.
Mister Nostradamus or Mrs Cleo. since you know the future tell me . What teams had a great draft. I bet you don't even hit on fifty percent.
They traded a 3rd (#73) to Jacksonville for a 7th and next years 2nd they also traded a 3rd #89 to Tennessee for their 2nd next year http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_NFL_Draft#Round_three_2
