Finally depth to the lines! And he appears to be Callahan's guy. Great pickup and value in the 6th round.
name one. seriously name one guy drafted in the entire sixth round that will be starting opening day for their team, not counting kickers/punters

War Room analysis Strengths: Plays with passion and aggression. Has a nasty disposition. Good football smarts and learns quickly. Hard worker and one of strongest players on his college team. Plays strong at the point of attack. Good leg drive and finish on run blocks. Solid versus twists. Plays square. Weaknesses: Below average athlete who lacks flexibility. Plays very high in pass protection. Limited athlete in space. Lacks lateral foot quickness. Needs technique work in terms of hand usage in pass protection. More of a wrestler than blocker. Had some off the field issues early in college career. Bottom line: Slauson typified a Nebraska offensive linemen before the Huskers went to the spread offense. Better suited for a smash mouth run game. Has good short area quickness, explosion and strength. More of a box player than a space player. Can be dominant at times as a run blocker. Has an explosive punch and looks to hurt the defender. He is a below average athlete who is tight in his hips and back. Better at blocking straight ahead than laterally. Comes off the ball with authority in the run game and drive his legs with good hip roll to create a running lane. Good with angles and will do whatever he has to do to make his block. Nasty disposition. Smart versus stunts and games. High effort player. In pass protection, he is a grab and wrestle player. Nothing pretty about his game. Lacks the foot quickness to kick off the line of scrimmage and dance with the rusher. Tries to jump set the rusher most of the time and will literally punch at the rusher to make his block. Will grab and claw to make block. Can be beaten by speed or double moves. Needs help from the center if he is going against a speed rusher. Fits the power run teams in NFL, and his motor and nastiness will make coaches beg for him on their team as a backup-type player.
I would not want that dude to walk in on me and his girlfriend knocking boots, let's just say that... He's a f@cking monster!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is that not the type of guy you want on a football team that is trying to get a "swagger." He is a mauler, and will be a great guy for the depth of this line. Maybe he can eventually replace Faneca. Bill Callahan knows what he wants on his offensive line, and nobody is more qualified to vouge for this kids talent than him.
you said "play for us immediately" that means starting to me. Also even if thats not what you meant, instead of a rotational DL guy, we got a rotational OL guy. This guy will be depth for us, I believe we had what 7 OL on the team at the end of the year? we have no depth on the line, and god forbid somebody goes down we are screwed. Also I am betting the stats are insanely in my favor on this one, steals from the 6th/7th round are more often than not OL, DL or linebackers, than the skill players. So picking up OL makes tons of sense to me, and it was certainly a need. While I agree that Pascoe would have done us more good, it doesnt matter, because he was selected.
I agree with this. you can never have enough good O-linemen. Look at the Jaguars last year when they lost their starting linemen. There entire team took a step back
The Jets must have their sights on free agents or trades following the draft, because I'm with you. I don't understand this.
I am happy with this pick only because it makes sense with the rest of our draft. We needed O line depth and with a new QB and RB it makes sense.
