Very interesting....no doubt Jets brass was impressed and whoever wasn't there at the pro day would like to see him in person. And honestly, we can knock Greene for his intelligence all we want, but he wasn't on that list of low wonderlic scores that got released (with Harvin, DHB, and Nicks on it).
McClain ran for nearly a 1000 yards in Baltimore and he ran a 4.94 in the 40. Greene is way faster than him, and watching his tape, he definitely looks like he runs faster on the field. He's got a nice initial burst too. Jones is not a power back because he has a bad propensity to dance in the backfield. Greene and Leon is a great combination for the future. Like I said elsewhere, he's a local Jersey guy too. With him and Sanchez, we have two good guys with interesting stories.
I will admit, I wanted Wells real bad, but this makes not getting him feel amazing. He is the same type of runner, and he might even have more field vision then, Wells. I'm in love with this pick, and thrilled to have him as a Jet. GREAT PICK!!!
I also liked Wells - these two backs are very similar in style - Shonn shows an explosive first step and some great elusiveness....just don't understand how he managed to last to the 3rd round, but this is a steal, imo. Nice call Jabba.
 And in the NFLN interview with Rex Ryan you saw the big smile he had when talking about Shonn Greene and what he'll be able to do on the field. Well, Mike T has made some terrific picks recently, so I certainly trust him..
I remember watching him against Penn State and thinking to myself that he would never make it out of the first round. I was dying for the Jets to pluck him in round 3 and my wish came true in the morning. Just a bang-up draft from Tannenbaum.
Excellent choice. With our first 2 picks we got guys who are going to be cornerstones of this franchise for a long time. Greene is an absolutely perfect compliment to what we have now.
