I'm pretty goddamn impressed with the Dolphins draft. They drafted arguably the best corner in the draft, arguably the best safety in the draft, two tall wide receivers with a shitload of upside (I would like to have nabbed Turner; the guy catching all those TD's in Sanchez's highlights? That's Turner), and they're going to take their Wildcat to the next level with Pat White. Don't be distracted by the perennial powerhouse Patriots. Fins won the divvy last year; they look threatening.
The dolphins got what they needed. CB was probably their biggest need. I am surprised they didn't get another LB though.
In my opinion, Edgerrin James and Joe Addai are decent-at-best running backs who benefited from the Colts' system. Look at Rhodes on the Colts vs. Rhodes on the Raiders; he didn't just forget how to play football for a year. They've got their best running back since Marshall Faulk. They're gonna run silly and Peyton Manning may just laugh his way to a sub-3,000 yard Super Bowl season.
Dolphins are having a very good draft, reaching for Patrick Turner in the 3rd round if we are grading "value" for their picks but he's a huge sleeper and I would have loved to have him catching balls from Sanchez out here.
I totally understand your point, but I disagree on Edge... Earlier in his career, he WAS as good as advertised. But, point taken..
Did Edge not just go to the Super Bowl with the frigging Cardinals? How can you call him a system player?
He was benched for the rookie, Hightower, in November. He hadn't had a run of 30+ yards since 05 with the Colts... http://www.mlive.com/fantasysports/index.ssf/2008/11/hightower_replaces_james_in_ca.html
