Trust me man, I am AMPED about this. I feel Sanchez is going to be a top tier QB for a decade. If he is as good as Palmer or Rivers, I'll be thrilled...anything beyond that is gravy I think he will be the kind of player that makes reveivers better than they really are, hope that makes sense....been talking Jets for 17 hours straight....
I saw him going to Seattle and thinking Housh was going to have a career year if Sanchez started. He will make an impact right away.
I mentioned that in a different thread. He has amazing leadship skills and I am 100% sure he will be accepted, loved, and respected in that locker room by week 1.
I think he has a lot of the same qualities of a Peyton Manning, I don't think he is quite on the same level as Manning as far as physical attributes. more in terms of his leadership abilities plus intangibles. I think we got a great one on our hands, the fact that we gave up nearly nothing to get him is just icing on the cake.
you'll see Sanchez in commercials just like Peyton. he'll thrive in the New York market... but the vultures will try to kill him...we need to be kind and understanding - that's a first for Jets fans.
I really like the way this team is looking. We finally drafted some offensive playmakers, and the defense looks pretty damn solid. I'm psyched!
I really like what they've done. They've picked up their starting QB and RB for 2010 and beyond and both can be expected to contribute starting next season. No small task and worth the price they paid. Sure they still have needs, as will every team after the draft, but they've taken care of their biggest need, QB. A blocking TE will be found through free agency or the waiver wire, their passing game will have to make due with the guys they have assuming no trades are made and they'll have to rely on the defensive scheme to get pressure, along with the development of Gholston under Ryan. Next year's draft they can focus on WR, DL and depth as they look to become legitimate Superbowl contenders.
I would like to know what kind of offense did USC use? that has a lot to do with the ability of a QB who played only 16 games.
and his maturity off the field? Sanchez used the combine week to prove he's no pretty boy QB and he's tougher and less gay that Matt Leinart.
Leinart proved that he was more concerned with being a celebrity than being a field general for his football team
