Sanchez doubters read this!! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/don_banks/04/25/Draft.snaps/index.html?bcnn=yes You read this article and tell me that we didn't make a great deal. I really have no idea who you think we have or what is wrong with Sanchez, but, after reading this, you all should know and understand why Sanchez is the answer.
What was in that article that was supposed to make me stop doubting him? I live in LA, this is my second time around with the Sanchez hype. When JD Booty was the QB he was hated by the fans almost as much as Penny was hated by Jets fans. Every SC fan was convinced that Booty was the cause of global warming and that if Sanchez was the QB every fans weiner would magically grow an inch. Then the fans finally got their wish and Sanchez started. No one's weiner got bigger. The national championships did not start piling up. He was just an averge QB with above average hype. I went through this before and now I have to go through it again. I get, I get it, Kellen Clemens is the cause of Global Warming and when Sanchez is the QB we will have Global Cooling instead. And eventually Sanchez will start and you will all learn what I already know.
but you think JDB has a better chance to be a starter, and he's 3rd behind Tavaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels... so what do you already know? and Sanchez's best game was in the Orange Bowl against Penn State where he put up 4 TDs... not many people do that to a Penn State defense.
And you should be banned 'globally' with global warming* and no warning. ur weiner should be cut magically by Booty... *Whatever global warming means in LA.
The "championships" didn't pile up? That would have been a great feet with only starting 16 games..how many did he lose anyway? 1? Jets fans would be thrilled to see those results carry over.
I've watched the guy play a lot, I came away highly umimpressed. I hope I'm wrong. In fact, I hoped I was wrong about Clemens. I just don't see it.
Championships didn't pile up? He played one season. And there is a reason USC didn't want to see him leave early. He still is loved in SC. Big.. HUGE difference from booty to Sanchez. I'm not telling you to love the pick, but blindingly hating it is steep.
sanchez is a one year wonder like many have been before him. usc had major talent around him, tough to not do well under those circumstances. we didn't give up our future, but i doubt he's much better than clemens if at all, and clemens isn't all that great!!!
He's a SoCal boy so I'm wondering how he's gonna hold up in the Meadowlands in November and December. Very windy, very cold and sometimes very wet as well..
I didn't like the pick, but hell its made! I hope he is the answer but I'm not convinced yet, 16 games as q/b is nothing!
My only problem w/ Sanchez is his uniform #. We have a bad history w/ guys wearing #6. It just doesn't look good, hopefully he decides to change his #.
Now he's going to be a New York football player - he'll probably sign a 6-year deal. Give him one winter and he'll be used to it...
I've lived up here for 54 years and every winter gets a little tougher. Maybe he will really enjoy the change of seasons for about 10 years?
national championships? have the rules been adjusted in college football that allow a team to win multiple national championships in one season, because that is all Sanchez played. unless of course you are claiming he also didn't help bring national championships to women's volleyball, the golf team, and baseball?
I can't remember the last QB to win a College National Title(as a starter) and win a Super Bowl in the NFL.
then if there is some universal force hindering the ability to do so, we should thank our lucky stars Sanchez couldn't deliver, on top of the emotional satisfaction of not having to watch USC win.
Generally Outstanding college QBs don't make great QBs in the NFL. Which kinda makes sense because they just learn the pro game and adapt rather than learn the college gain and fail to adapt.
