The trade up was as much as a business decision as it was a football decision. That being said, I will have to say that I am very happy about about the compensation, I was worried that we would have to give up our #1 next year. We made out like bandits in my opinion!!!! Let's let this thing play out and we'll talk about it in 2 or 3 years....
Yeah this is definately to try to get more asses in the seats. I really hope it wasn't a huge mistake, but then again this is the J-E-T-S we are talking about.
A Brand New Stadium, with a Brand new Top 5 QB.... Great way to sell tickets, I think it was a great pick, I just want to see the contract.
From a business standpoint this is a stroke of brilliance. You get the only QB in the league with a hispanic last name (that I can think of) in one of the largest Hispanic markets in the country. And he is a top 5 pick to ensure that people's attention is grabbed. From a football standpoint. I think it makes the team weaker in the short term. We lost a starter and depth on defense and traded away a pick (#17) that could have been used to address additional concerns. Don't forget we are treading on thin ice on the OL and DL. Injuries there and this team could be sunk.
Well he definitely is not that, given that Leinart is lefthanded, which creates difficulties in protection in many pass schemes and often results in a longer adjustment period to the pro game.
I pretty much said the same thing in my thread. This has PSL's all over it. Is getting him bad? NO But some people are sooooo naive to think Woody had nothing to do with this.
Im not so certain. Theyre calling me every 5 minutes asking if I'm going to buy. Reeks of desperation.
Same here, I get a Call from the rep a few times a week. oh, and Have you seen the lower sections of the YANKEES & METS games?
I have told the guy point blank that they are nuts if they think theyre going to sell all those PSLs AND raise ticket prices to those levels. The guy keeps trying to get me to buy anything but the dirt cheap seats.
If the per Game Seat Prices weren't so Epensive. They'd sell the PSL's. IMO they're being greedy. Woody said (Paraphrasing):If they can sell them in Tennessee for that much we should be able to get that in the NY Market.
