You cant be scared to go after a franchise QB. Tanny knows what he is doing.

I agree, but it's very possible that we will be staring at need and the highest rated player on our board being a TE when we pick if we don't move. I'm going to assume if that's the case we should work out a deal to move down to not take the TE?

There is also the likely hood that we have to move to 2 to really get Sanchez and I think the Rams do want to trade down. That's going to take a huge move and I'm okay with that. It also wouldn't surprise me if we move up a few spots to take the TE and that would piss me off no end after moving up last year and not filling the spot with a servicable full time player as good an athlete as he is.

Keller may well be a better Doug Jolly a nice part time player who is a threat when he's in the game but is taking another athlete off the field for that threat.

Kansas City wants to move out as well. I believe St. Louis will take an offensive tackle or Aaron Curry.

The only team that I'm worried about is Seattle - they have a need a quarterback, even with their recent comments on Hasselbeck.

We cannot give up our 2010 first rounder - next year's draft is going to be loaded.

Why is that the only team you're worried about? There are going to be several teams looking to get Sanchez and that puts the Rams in position to get a lot of value for him.

EXACTLY! He has NEVER done us wrong on draft day.

I want Crabtree, and I think Tanny does also. A WR like him can make Kellen a very good QB.

If this is true, I hope it's for Crabtree or Maclin.

You end up overpaying in free agency. If you draft well and often you don't have to overpay for guys like Faneca and Woody. Speaking of Faneca, look at how the Steelers do it. They let Faneca go instead of locking him up for big money and slid one of their draft picks into his spot. That's their overall philosophy and it sets them up well long term. They may have a down year here or there but every few years they're right back in the championship hunt just like 2005 - present.

Seattle is in a position where Sanchez will fall into their laps...I don't believe Cleveland will take Sanchez -- they supposedly don't want to trade Quinn. Anderson + Quinn = a lot of money invested into that position.

The Rams tried to use the plane ticket as a smokescreen - they purchased tickets for Monroe and Smith too.

No one wants to pay top dollar is a weak economy - I don't see anyone trading into the top five for Sanchez.

The Redskins don't want to give up multiple picks for him -- so I am knocking them out of the scenario...for now. If he falls to Jacksonville at 8, my opinion will change.

People that want Mike Crabtree have no idea what they're talking about -- his stats look great because of the system he played in.

Crab is a slow receiver with decent hands and a huge attitude problem. His "size" was his biggest asset and that was debunked at the combine when he measured in under 6'3. Stay away.

After giving this some thought I might be able to live with Crabtree. My fear though is that we mortgage our draft for a single player. We only have 6 picks. Its going to take at least a 1st and 2nd (at the very, very least). That leaves us with some back end talent that can't fill the needs we currently have.

Last 5 Years of 1st Rounders.

    2008 - Gholston
    2007 - Revis
    2006 - Ferguson and Mangold
    2005 - None
    2004 - Vilma

    Looks good to me.

I hope you're right I would love to move down to 8 and get him, I'm afraid the only way to get him is to move to 2 and that's going to be an auction. I have a gut feeling PSL Woody may just do it. Sanchez has a shot to be very good and he has the personality to give the Jets some juice.

So you'll be happy when the Patriots trade up for him and he toasts our secondary twice a year for the next decade....When he breaks 10 tackles a game and gets big YAC, is that an illusion too? Or has this been "debunked" as well. Nobody knows if he'll be great or not, but to say you know he's gonna be a bust is ridiculous...

I'd love to see them get Raji. But I have faith in Ryan & Tannenbaum to make a some smart decisions today.

I'll be happy when the Pats trade up for him and Darrelle Revis can play half-ass football and still cover that joke of a prospect.

He's one of the most overrated prospects of all time because of his stats.

It will take him at least two to three seasons to become a DECENT route runner. With his lack of speed and rounded out routes, it will be very hard for him to get open in the pros.

His lack of concentration is his worst attribute - and his head seems to be getting bigger.

Pro comparison - Brandon Marshall...with half a brain
