This two rounder has a few very possible trades based on the rumors going around. The Pats want to move up around the top 10 and the Giants want to trade up for Darrius Heyward-Bey as I've seen on ESPN and online. #17 is a great place to do it and since Sanchez went #3 overall, the Jets don't trade up. And the Broncos fall in love with Sanchez and get their QB to build around for the future.. Trades Denver trades #12 and #18 to Kansas City for their #3 and a mid/late round selection. New England trades #34 and #47 to New Orleans for their #14 NY Giants trade #29 and #60 to NY Jets for #17 1. Detroit: Matt Stafford QB 2. St. Louis: Jason Smith OT 3. My one complaint is the Giants trade up with us to take DHB, while Maclin is on the board? I dont buy it.... then no chance that he falls to 26, somebody will trade up, chances are it would be us. That said, we can get WAY more in a trade with the giants to drop 12 picks in the first round. It would need to be at least their earlier second rounder, i still think they could get more, say an extra 4.
I can see the Giants moving up, but I'll kill myself if this draft goes down like this. Wells does not leave the top 25, let alone fall to round 2.
Robo is a much more polished receiver than Britt. What makes Britt interesting is his potential and physical ability. I would say there is much more Risk/Reward with Britt......Robo is one of the safest picks in this draft.
Ah, I knew this wasn't going to get much positive feedback, but this how I see it... Maclin very well could fall to #26.. He's still very young and has a long way to go as a route runner.. Plus his stats were jacked up because of the offense he played in. Now, with that being said, he is still a dynamic playmaker with great game speed (not timed speed, which is irrelevant). And the Giants have already said they are interested in trading up for Darrius Heyward-Bey. He may have more upside based on triangle numbers, but is more a boom or bust. Brian Robiskie is one of the best prospects in this draft. He has outstanding hands, terrific size, is extremely tough, runs great routes and is a hard worker and a team leader. He has very solid timed speed for a guy that's 6-3 210, but isn't the fastest guy. He has less question marks than any other WR in the 2009 class and could contribute right away. IMO, he's underrated and would start from Week One. Brian Robiskie is a better propsect than Kenny Britt IMO. I would still be very happy if we got Kenny Britt, but what makes him better than Robiskie really? He has questionable hands and has a prima dona attitude..
JFIPA..............I have alot of respect for you taking a stand and supporting your beliefs. I do believe if things fall a certain way Maclin will drop, but not to the end of rd 1. He has alot of question marks.....route running, hands and intelligence. Maclin is going to have a tough time adjusting to the NFL, Robo will be a smoother transition. If a team feels they need to draft Robo in late rd 1...so be it. Too many people have shunned Ohio State players because of Gholston. I have no dog in this fight and hate some OSU players and love some other Buckeyes. Robo will make some team tomorrow very happy they drafted him.
I would love for us to get some extra picks but we arent known for doing that.If the draft went that way id be pissed if we pick Robiskie over Britt and passed over Sean Smith at the 2nd second round pick.
here is my take on the draft... Hammernnails Psychic Mock draft!! Lions *Matt Stafford QB Georgia Rams *Jason Smith OT Baylor Chiefs *Aaron Curry LB Wake Forest Seahawks *Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech Browns *Eugene Monroe OT Virginia Bengals *Brian Orakpo DE Texas Raiders *Jeremy Maclin WR Missouri Jaguars *BJ Raji DT Boston Packers *Tyson Jackson DE LSU 49ers *Mark Sanchez QB USC Bills *Andre Smith OT Alabama Broncos *Everette Brown DE Florida State Redskins *Michael Oher OT Mississippi NEW ORLEANS SAINTS *Malcolm Jenkins S/CB Ohio State Texans *Clay Matthews OLB USC Chargers *Ray Maualuga ILBUSC Jets *Josh Freeman QB Kansas State Denver *Peria Jerry Bucs *Robert Ayers DE Tennessee Lions *Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma State Eagles Aaron Maybin DE Penn Vikings *Eben Britton OT Arizona Pats *Brian Cushing OLB USC FoulClowns *Percy Harvin WR Florida Dolphins *Vontae Davis CB Illinois Ravens *Darrious Heyward-Bey WR Maryland Colts *Chris Wells “Beanie” RB Ohio State Bills *Larry English DE N. Illinois G”aints” *Hakeem Nicks WR North Carolina Titians *Darius Butler CB Conn Cards *Knowshon Moreno RB Georgia Steelers * Alex Mack OC Oregon
Serious fucking groan from me if we manage to pass on Jarron Gilbert, Beanie, Donald Brown, Andre Smith and Hakeem Nicks. Failure of a trade down.
Three times actually! Sorry, but I think he's extremely overrated and is a boom or bust prospect. I see more towards the "bust" category. Scott Wright has him going at the bottom of the 3rd round this morning's update..
no way the jets trade with giants and risk losing a stud player at 17 out to take 2 scrubs in return. This would be another jints getting a one up on jets again
