yeah this has been around for a day or so...

I guess this would be the best case scenario for us if we want sanchez to slide... but that said if stafford doesnt go #1, i think Sanchez goes before him.

I heard about this yesterday as well. Interesting that Stafford still hasn't caved. I'd say he likely gives in by tomorrow, but if not, how does this affect the first round?

    Lions - Curry
    Rams - J. Smith
    Chiefs - Eugene Monroe
    Seahawks - Stafford
Browns - Sanchez (if they're as high on him as they say)
Bengals - Jason Smith? Do they still go tackle?
    Raiders - Maclin
    Jags - Crabtree
    Packers - Raji

So, the same 9 guys still go, but interesting that Raji falls all the way down to 9. I know a lot of guys here are big on him, myself included.

    Oh well.

I hope this is true shakes things up in top ten then.

Id do that trade with Jags if Raji fell to 8. He would be nice to fill in for Jenkins on downs but he could also rotate with the DE's as well. Would drastically improve our front 3 which I feel is the biggest ?? this year.

How about the Lions take Curry #1 (although I would take a LT) and then give #20 and #33 to the Jags to get Stafford? That would be cool :p

Yeah, I agree. They say a lot of GMs have Sanchez rated higher than Stafford. If he turns this down he could fall right out of the top 10. Certainly he won't get what Detroit has on the table now from anybody else and with his agent a lot of people won't even draft him because they won't want to see a holdout.

You're right that he won't get what Detroit has on the table, but fall out of the Top 10? If he slid past 5, someone would jump up to grab him.

I havent heard of any team really high on the Stafford bandwagon. Even the Detroit team was split between Curry, Stafford and Sanchez. I never really scouted him because I assumed the Lions would just draft him because everyone expected them to.

I'd do the deal if I knew the FO's thought process. If they truly plan to take DHB or Pettigrew at 17, and spend our 2nd on Quinn, I'd be all for the trade. If they're looking at Moreno at 17 and Gilbert with our 2nd rounder, I'd pass.

That's largely because it's been so heavily predicted that he'd go #1 and nobody wanted to trade up to grab him. I guarantee he's high on teams' boards if the opportunity presents itself.

My thoughts exactly. If Raji falls that far and they have the deal in place with the Jags, then you pull the damned trigger.

I still think that the OT Smith was the way to go. You rebuild a franchise with an O-Line first. If they do go Stafford I hope he doesn't develop David Carr Syndrome. Anyway I am not big on Curry. 1 year wonder,

I understand that Raji is a good prospect, but why trade the farm for a guy who's going to be rotating with our starting NT for top 10 money? All you need is someone who can hold the POA and draw double teams part time, which is why if nothing really presents itself in the 2nd round, I'd aggressively look to pick up Ron Brace. Won't be as great as maybe Raji, but will be well worth the 2nd round money for someone to rotate with Jenkins.

If the FO is serious about finding a NT to rotate with Jenkins (which I don't think they are, but will applaud the move if they do) this is what I'm hoping they do in the 2nd round.

Because next year we could put him into starting role of DE and trade/release Kenyon C.

You can't make a guy Raji's size play DE. Not saying he can't do it, I'm saying guys that big are more efficient and effective playing a limited number of snaps per season. If you plan on making him a full-time DE, who'll rotate in for Jenkins? We'll be back to square one, unless you plan on trading/cutting Jenkins in the near future. I don't see how this works out at all.

    Raji
    Height: 6-1 1/2 Weight: 337
    Ngata
    6-4 Weight: 345

    not much difference to me

Ngata plays DE? That's news to me. Given that we may not run a traditional 3-4, I could see how Raji could be utilized in a hybrid, 4-3, 46 scheme. Still, for 8th pick money, I still think it's more efficient picking up his colleague in the 2nd round and move him anywhere on the line as well. I'm more concerned about giving Jenkins those breaks without losing the aggressiveness and intensity on the field.

He plays both in a rotational role. I think he's listed as DT on their roster.

I don't want to trade up I just said if we do Id rather do it for him then Sanchez.
