haha sorry Green Dude for participating in the hijack of your thread, that wasn't cool and I didn't mean to. I'm also sorry you got your fish stolen.

Anyways, I mapquested (as per Champs advice) SUNY Cortland to my house in Ridgewood, NJ and it told me 3.5 hours. I think a day trip may be doable but an overnight stay and 2 days of camp would be even better. A friend of mine who is a huge Giants fan wants to go on a trip together splitting time at the Jets and Giant camps. As much as I detest the Giants and their fans it would be cool to be able to make a comparison and cool to wear a Jets Jersey to a Giants camp.

For anyone else that wants to Mapquest here's the address you want to use.

    1 Folmer Dr.

I'll be able to make the short drive out to Cortland a couple of times this year. I still believe they should be having camp at their facility, but I will take advantage of having them practice in my backyard.

My ass is gonna be there....I am about 2 hrs and 45 mins away.....

I will take a camera but it's not a fancy SLR....just a normal one.....and it will probably just be one day unless they have cheap hotels around...

Its upstate ny you can find cheap hotels everywhere. I found 75 a night but i know in the small towns in immediate area can sometimes find 45 a night places though they are kinda skeezy.

Not taking them to heart- rather, I just find you annoying. I'm glad that you don't like arguing but since you've taken the floor, I want you to point out each and every example where you've been the recipient of my rude, obnoxious and insulting comments- sounds like the stuff of Oliver Stone movies, doesn't it?

After you're done with that, I expect a full compilation of examples where I exhibited the same behavior towards other posters. I'm sure it will be quite interesting, since I really can't think of any exchanges besides you and I along those lines. Hell, I was even giving that recent troll in the BS forum a chance while others claimed he was the reincarnation of some pirate.

When have I ever once mentioned "post count" on here? I'm very proud of you, being 31 years old and eduMacated, but when did I ever ask for your credentials?

I'm really done with your annoying act and ask that once you've taken the rest of the evening compiling your results, that you keep all further exchanges with me in a PM.

Mutual respect? On the internet? Come on, are you really that naive?

I understand that and agree with it. There are multiple teams that hold their training camps in different states than where the team plays its home games.
My little issue here is that when the Jets headquarters were in Hempstead they held training camp right there. Now they finally move to New Jersey, but continue to hold camp in New York, albeit a completely different location in New York.
I wish training camp had been held in New Jersey in years past so that I could have gone out to camp a few times. I went two times- both in 2000- because Long Island was too much of a drive for me.
I cannot win with this godforsaken team. Nothing ever goes right for me with this team.

Would have been real nice if they were held at Cornell - that would mean I don't get to travel too far away - but can't complain with Cortland. I might be able to make it to the camp this year.

Feel free to add or edit this list.

Here are a few attractions within 30-45 minutes of Cortland for those traveling and spending a few days:

1- Finger Lakes (Cayuga is closest), great wineries (30 mins)

2- Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse (30 mins)

    3- Ithaca (30 mins)

4- Greek Peak ski resort mountain biking (30 mins)

    5- Syracuse (30 mins north)

6- Madame Oars and Tzers dot com (look it up) (45 mins south, Binghamton)

7- Oswego and Lake Ontario (90 mins north)

8- Niagara Falls and Buffalo (you'll need your passport ;=)) (2 hours west)

9- Turning Stone Casino (45 mins)

Translation: Be respectful on the internet??? Are you crazy??? This is my chance to act big and bad in a way I wouldn't have the balls to do in person. Ohh by the way, next time you clown me, can you have the respect of doing it in a PM instead of in front of everyone? Thanks.

Call me an idealist, but I don't think it's all that outlandish to expect people on here, especially regulars, to post with a certain level of courtesy and respect.

Might just have to drive out there to visit the family .. as most of my extended still live in the Cortland, Homer .. Ithaca area.

How many here have witnessed the yearly Cortaga Jug game between Cortland & Ithaca? Good times .... good times.

I think the Florham Park facility is too comfortable for training camp. Probably going away to be secluded and focused is a good idea. Pat Riley started taking the Knicks to Charleston when he took over the job for that reason.

You're missing my point because I agree with you on that. I was trying to indicate that I am a little perturbed that the Jets didn't go away for camp back in the Hempstead days. They could have conducted training camp somewhere in NJ back then.

I live 10 minutes from Florham Park and I'm not going to commit hari kari over this. It's just training camp. I did without for decades and I can do without again. I'll try to take in minicamp. It's not really that big of a deal, really. I'd rather see the team win then see the team in August.

    RE: what I bolded

Yeah, I agree. It's not something I feel I need to see ever again. The two times I went in 2000 was enough.
When I was a teen in the 1990s, I would have really enjoyed it. Alas, back in those days, the Jets just had, they just had, to conduct camp at team headquarters. They didn't deem it necessary to go away for camp back then.

Sylvan Beach is in that area as well. Small amusement Park but a great killer Steak House and a nice pretty beach area too. There are a few lakefront Bars also.

    Some points.

    1. Cayuga is the closest, but it's nasty. Go to Seneca or Keuka.

    2. Dinosaur BBQ is phenomenal

    3. Ithaca is cool if you're gay (literally) or a hard core liberal. San Fran East

Two hours away. I've never been to the steak house though. You've peaked my interest.
