Wasn't completely sure where to put this, but thought that a lot of people want Britt here, he is a local kid, so why not put it in the Jets area to see what people think of this. I wouldn't be against bringing him in, he has good hands, good size and speed, and can be had in the 2nd. I'm not one for flamboyant receivers, but i like the guy.
I heard somewhere that a Diva is a female version of a hustler. If Britt doesn't wanna hustle out there on the field, I don't want him.
I've always been a RU fan so maybe I'm biased, but I would love to see Britt on the Jets. We need a WR.
I think Britt would be a great fit for the Jets. The charismatic sometimes cocky attitude is right in line with a lot of Rex's other player. But like them, he backs it up with his play on the field.
Britt cannot be had with our second round pick, we either trade down to the early-mid 20s or we "reach". Preferably, if we can't trade down I'd reach and take him I think he's gonna be sick
I am more worried about Britt's inconsistent hands than his attitude, but I think in terms of physical gifts and production he is the no brainer of the first round. When you consider that we could likely trade down 3 or 4 spots and still land this kid and the absence of a physically superior guy at the receiver position, Britt makes perfect sense. Our offense has been vanilla, and aside from Leon, there is no dynamic dimension. I think Britt would be a fine addition. -X-
I didn't say he could be had with 'our' 2nd, i said he could be had in 'the' 2nd. I fully understand that we will either have to trade down in the first, or trade up in the 2nd. Italian Seafood, you have probably seen him more than most as a RU fan, what is he like after the catch? i have read plenty on his ability to go up and get the ball, but i haven't read what he is like once he has the ball.
It seemd like most times I saw him catch passes he was wide open and/or gone. I don't remember see him fighting for yardage much for that reason. He has good size, as it's been mentioned his hands can be suspect but he's a good WR, I think. Definitely good NFL speed and size.
He was very Physical from what I remember watching. Didn't just run out of bounds, stayed in to lay a hit on the secondary. He got open alot & it seemed pretty easy for him.
Trading down to get Britt would be one of my ideal round one scenarios. I like him more than DHB, and I'm shying away from Harvin now.
I agree, that would be a good scenario. I'm all for getting more picks to add depth in the later rounds. I didn't get to see him in college much, but if the worst that's happened to him was a one game suspension, it doesn't sound like he'd be a big off-field liability.
I just came across this interview with Britt from after his workout with the Giants. I haven't seen it on this board so apologies if it's been posted already - http://blogs.msg.com/gameon/2009/04/16/rutgers-kenny-britt-at-giants-stadium/ Unfortunately, his Dad is a Giants fan, but he sure doesn't seem like a diva in this interview - seems pretty down to earth actually.
as an RU graduate and fan, barring ray Rice and brian leonard, this kid is going to be a success and teams are going to kick themselves for trying to label him. he has the talent of a TO less the attitude. The kid is just confident in his abilities.
Lowest was 4.40 at his pro day. Typically mid 4.4's It didn't seem to me that he had trouble getting seperation. He was also Double teamed alot.
