A gunslinger?:eek:hmy:.................. Really? Then this team is in much more trouble then I thought.

No I didn't miss 2007, a wasted year with two quarterbacks who couldn't compete behind a porous offensive line. The only thing that stands out that year was Clemens decision making skills were clearly behind NFL standards.

Jet fans are in for one hell of a surprise if they expect this defense to carry us to the playoffs......

Prepare to be dissapointed. Clemens and "very smart" don't belong in the same sentence. Neither does Clemens and "great qb".

Like I already said, this is just a prediction, but one based firmly in reality. Feel free to shower me with scorn when Clemens makes the pro bowl or the Jets are in the Superbowl.

Ratliff vs KC? I'm just happy they both looked good, maybe now we won't waste a pick on Josh Staff-chez. This is a weak year for QBs, if we draft one early it will be SOJ. Even if these QBs live up to the hype, would the difference between Staff-chez and our current QBs be enough to justify the pick? To put it in practical terms, is Mark Sanchez throwing to Clowney and Cotchery and handing off to TJ better than KC/Ratliff and a first round player thrown into the mix? The answer is clearly no.

The ONLY people who know ANYTHING about Ratliff are Internet folk who read forums like this one. I've mentioned him to Jets fans who've gone to games for like 20 years, and the general reply is "who?"

Nothing against the guy, and I read a nice article about him in the NYT maybe 2 weeks ago. But the fact is, even bigger Jets fans knew Clemens was the backup then ??? was the 3rd stringer.

The guy is currently nothing. Hopefully he lights it up again in preseason and gets a shot, but really, to everyone but the Jets internet community, there is no Ratliff.

    Just sayin'.

The wagon is still here, but wit the added wieght of Ryan on board it is just moving slower.

I love Ryan as a coach and when the season really begins I have faith he will see Ratliff is the better QB.

When the contact starts, KC will be his usual self of running around like a chichen with his head cut off. Eric will show his pocket presence anb calm poise.

I and praying that Tanny and the FO does not talk Ryan into Freeman. Why we would want a eratic big questions mark in the 1st round is beyong me.

If Jets fans don't know who Ratliff is, then i don't care how long they have been going to games, there not Jets fans. It's impossible to be a fully fledged member of the Jets faithful and now not know who he is.

But...how can you not be on the Ratty bandwagon...I mean come on. The guy threw two bombs to a wide open receiver in the second half of a meaningless preseaon game against the Browns second and third teams...not to mention the Browns had one of the worst pass defenses during the season with their first team. This kid has to be Superbowl bound!! Everyone has to see that!!

"Clowney easily outraced cornerback A.J. Davis and safety Nick Sorensen for a 71-yard touchdown"

"Clowney's 70-yard touchdown play in the fourth quarter came between cornerback Mil'von James and safety Steve Cargile. "

And how did Ratty ever squeeze passes in when Clowney was facing the All Pro players listed in bold above...

Two of the guys arent even on the Browns anymore, 1 isnt in the NFL, and Sorenson made a whopping 20 something tackles last seaon. Sorry if I'm not drinking the Kool - Aid

This kids got it. Start him game 1.

Maybe this year, or maybe now if they're not watching baseball or basketball or hockey and speculating on who the Jets pick.

But in general, how important is a team's 3rd stringer? Their names are usually only mentioned when joking around.

Many folks skip watching preseason games. Those folks who don't read this board have no idea who Ratliff is. He's currently obscure trivia. Hopefully he kills it this year, but for now, he's the answer to a trivia question to all but the Jets Internet community.

They should know who he is if they are truly passionate fans because he's battling for the starting QB position. He's not our 3rd string QB anymore.

The Ratliff bandwagon is still here.

You think 2 days of minicamp and non-contact drills would change anything? Anybody who's crowing about Clemens (or Ratliff) at this point of the year really needs to get outside. Decisions aren't made in April

I thought it was pretty good sportsmanship on Ratliffs part letting Clemens feel like he still has a chance in this competition:wink:

Yeah, starting jobs are not won in a voluntary mini-camp. Gees. BTW, I agree with you.

I am not worried about our QB situation at all. I just hope we don't move up and draft one.

Yup' yup'! I am behind Ratty, but if Clemens gets the nod, I will support him as well. All this talk is just that, we wont know for sure until the preseason games begin. I just hope to all-hell we dont waste a high draft choice on another QB. We have other more pressing needs to fill. Clemens vrs. Ratty now means: nothing. At least until the new season begins.
