The Billion Dollar Band Box

Im not sure that the Yankees need to be "embarrassed" but it does appear to be quite the little band box. I also happen to think its ugly. I dont like the way the seatd are laid out in right and left and in the alleyd. I can put my finger on what I dont like though.

 

I'm not sure A) why it's embarrassing or B) why you keep harping on it so much. So the new stadium is more of a hitter's park than the old one. Who gives a fuck? It's part of baseball, some stadiums favor hitters and others favor pitchers. I don't see the big deal.

 

As a Mets fan it's his God-given responsibility to harp on the Yankees more than he worries about his own team.

if this continues all season then yes the yankees should try to change it, either by moving back the fences, or creating a windblock to change air flow. besides how ridiculous having 5 or 6 HRs hit a game is, having a hiter friendly home park on that level is bad for a team, look at Colorado, Houston, etc. it makes you use way more pitchers in a game, and wears them down over the season, also your pitchers have to pitch away from fly balls which messes up their mechanics and selection, a good example is mike hampton. I watched the game today and texeira's HR, choo's HR, and derosa's double are all flyouts in just about any ballpark in the majors.

 

There is a difference between a hitters park and making Citizens Bank Park look like Petco field

In all seriousness, would raising the fences a little bit help at all? I know they did it in Philly a few years ago. I can't believe they didn't factor in the wind at all when they were doing this.

 

Plus side. A-Rod has an easy ticket to 762 if he stays with the Yanks.

 

Too bad his is just as tainted as Barrys.

actually the dimensions aren't the same the lines are the same, and a few points in left and right center are the same, but they flattened out right field to add more seats, so where a bunch of these ones are just getting out, like posada's, and choo's would have been on the track last year. Also the walls are much shorter, so it makes Doubles into HRs. The difference is between 5 and 9 feet and the wall height is calculated as making it equivalent to 1.5 or 2 feet more.
