In an orthodox Jew, and can answer any questions. Ill be back on sat. night after the sabbath. In any case, Jews have eaten matza for 8 days straight, ad that is enough constipation to make anyone complain.
<--Me too, obviously. Although something has always bothered me about the Berlin Olympics story. No doubt the decision not to let him run was fueled by prejudice. But for crying out loud he was replaced by Jesse Owens, a far superior athlete. I mean, its not like his place was deprived him in favor of someone who he beat in fair competition.
Rashi is a peshat on the entire shir hashirim, do you have a specific pasuk that you would like me to explain? Since when are you judge and jury?
Calm down, I have the utmost respect. I wasn't sure if it was true that you were Orthodox--it could have been untrue. You should read this whole thread--your input would be helpful
Yeah, wtf is going on here? Are some Jews trying to find out who's more Jewish than the others now? And/Or trying to figure out who the real Jews are and set them apart from the fake Jews?
You're absolutely right. Big machlokess on this board here right now, his input would certainly help. You think we've got enough on this board here for a minyan? Shabbat Shalom boys.
LOL. Ok guys bottom line, orthodox Jews have been dealing with missing games in every sport forever. Religion does come before watching a game, but some of us have walked by the local bar or asked the neighbor for the score once in a while. The worst is really missing a big playoff game, but for the holiest holidays of the year no one would argue with Jets brass, thats nuts. I saw a few Christmas comparisons, and just to explain, An orthodox Jew cant turn on and off A TV or Radio, or any electric device on any sabbath or holiday. On Christmas people would rather not, but I would think its still permissible to turn on the radio if one wants to.
True, though I thought he did run the relay, just not the finals. I better brush up on my history. Regardless, it took a hell of a lot of nerve for Glickman to march past Hitler.
Not to mention that the NFL draft falls out on the sabbath every single year! No one is saying that the Jewish holidays are more important than any other holiday. But you can't say that some Jewish holidays don't require a lot more restrictions. Some don't even eat or drink for 25 hours during Yom Kippur. Some of the stuff I've read on this board and others is pretty typical, really doesn't surprise me.
If so many of you are offended by the content of this thread and the discussion, then grow a pair. And if you're "not surprised" or if it's "typical", then why do you post on a board so low to your standards? Jesus Christ.
I don't post here so often, partly because of jerks like yourself! Thankfully, I have a great life outside of my computer screen, there's a whole world out there. How many times do you post here a day? Pretty pathetic. This is like my first post here in 8 months or so. And after reading some of the trash I've seen in this read, it was pretty difficult not to chime in.
He's not Jewish if I understand it correctly. Somebody could doctor a Sage Rosenfels photo in similar fashion.
