you're missing the point. I wasn't saying the stadium wouldn't sell out. I'm saying that Jews, for better or for worse, are a significant part of the revenue model for the Jets, Giants, Yankees, and Mets.

this thread can go many ways and i hope it doesn't get too fugly......

the jets and giants are being politically/religiously correct by requesting scheduled observance for these holy days....do i agree with it? No, but many supporting fans of the jewish faith likely own a decent percentage of tickets/PSL's so its a necessary choice.

the NFL goofed and it'll be interesting to see what happens next.

disclaimer - not jewish myself but have many, many friends who proudly are.

I may have underestimated my Jew stats, to be honest:

And considering that, traditionally, Jews have outperformed expectations in terms of financial success, they would be likelier to be season ticket owners, so it could be over 20%, easy.

Considering Jews are about 2% of the entire U.S. population, it's pretty fair to say that the Jets and Giants are easily the most affected by this problem

History would indicate that roughly 55% of the time it is a good thing because the Jets only win about 45% of the time.

Even if that is true, and I don't know how you'd illustrate it, this issue only effects ticket holders right?

I kinda just wanted to use the term "jew stats" as a joke. I'm surprised you were able to bring them up so quickly.

    a) I would assume so. The game will still be sold out, but there'll be plenty of empty seats.

    b) Gotta love wikipedia.

it affects a lot more than ticket holders.

The TV and radio ratings would drop as well, not to mention that this would turn off a lot of people for the future.

Do these holidays Jews choose to observe always occur on a Sunday during football season or is it just a once very 7 years type of thing?

Not making fun of your holiday....but Christmas is a solemn religious holiday too, but I wouldn't expect you to know that...

Every 7 years. Well, Rosh Hashanah is a two-day holiday, but these overlapping would be once ever 7. It's set up to the Jewish calendar, not the standard one.

I love the arrogance of you telling us we don't know your practices, but taking the time to tell us that Christmas is just a fun get together. For real Christians, church is part of Christmas. Fucking typical bullshit

    A-fucking-men.

Edit: FTR, I'm anti-religion, but arrogance from any religion is frustrating. And comparing them is even dumber. Which religion has the biggest penis? Does foreskin count? Yes? Well, that's not fair.
