I'm so sick of athletes he should be thankful he has a job. He shouldn't have signed the contract if he didnt like it.

He is under contract for 2 more seasons. But I guess a contract doesn't mean much in the NFL anymore

He can kiss my arse...Watch it, if he doesn't STFU and act like a true player, he'll be traded come draft day. Or released and we'll sign a second round RB, just like in fookin Bakers case.

This just means he'll have fresher legs in December.

yea but look at it from his side. if he had 1 touchdown again and rushed for only 800 yards we might be cutting his ass right now.and contracts are not guarenteed.

Sorry, my only grip is that because his contract was FRONT LOADED, and he is now on the back side of it, why should he be entitled to anything? If he keeps it up, cut him. Fuck him and the horse he rode in on. I feel better.

    Cut him?

What do the Jets gain from doing that? You're basically telling players if they bitch and hold out they'll get to go find a new contract with whatever team they want.

Oh and we are without our starting RB too ...

I think that ship has already sailed though. Now it's out that he wants a new deal and isn't showing up for things because of it. Teams aren't going to pay a lot for a 31 year old RB who wants a big paycheck.

TJ will still get the job done next year weather he attends Vol workouts or not.
As everyone knows his value outside of our team is less than his value to us , so it makes no sense to trade him .
He'll start day 1 , I did think that he might have gone at the start of free agency , but not now.

I'm thinking Moreno in the 1st round will help solve all these problems if Maclin is off the board.

Jets will draft another back IMO. Jones is fine.

If the draft unfolds the way I think it will, I think it's gonna come down to 2-3 players when we're up. Tyson Jackson, Freeman and Moreno.

If we don't find someone to trade the pick with, I can't see us passing up on Moreno. I think Freeman is a smoke-screen and I don't think the FO is that high on Jackson. At that point I don't really see who else we could pick up without really reaching.

There is a great chance Moreno could fall to us if San Diego doesn't take him. That is a real possiblity. Trading up for Moreno at #15 would not pain me.

I'm not really sold on trading up for any player. We're in a good spot right now. I think we have a good chance of finding someone to trade down with, so I'm taking the Tanny approach and let the Draft fall to us. I like a few RB's in the 2nd who will do as good a job as Moreno, so I'd like to sit tight or move down.

Edit: Actually, if there's one player I'd consider moving up for a few spots..it would be Maclin.

Also, let's all take note of the example Leon is setting through all of this. If anybody should bitch for a new contract it is him. All the guy is doing is he keeps trying to get better and be a team player. He knows that by concentrating on this he will probably get no worse the the Fanchise Tag when he is eligible for the FA market. He is a guy I never want to see leave the Jets until he retires.

+1, could not agree more with everything that is said here. He is the kind of guy that will get his contract, make sure he is happy with it, and then just get on with playing. Jones is starting to really piss me off, he signed the contract, if he didn't like he then he shouldn't of signed it. He wants more after a good season, could be of paid him less after his 1 TD 2007... get your ass on the field and stop whining like a little bitch, your earning millions to runa football you chump.
