They're not Ratliff exclusive but he has a lot of highlights....he seems like a bit of a gunslinger that takes a few chances but what I like is he stands firm in the face of pressure.

I like his pocket awareness, he does seem to lock onto receivers sometimes though, won't be able to do that in the NFL, needs to look off the safety's. I just like the fact that he is going to be given the oppurtunity to compete.

I never saw his stress while in the pocket. He showed toughness running and taking some hits when stepping up.

This is why I think Ratliff will be under center come the start of the season. He has a great arm aand can make all the throws. He has good pocket awareness something I never saw with Clemens. Clemens just never looked comfortable in the pocket.

Thats because he plays against starting professional defenses. Something Ratliff has never had to do.

One sided highlight video's, great right? I wish there was more videos like the one of Sanchez and ever pass he throws in the rose bowl, both good and bad. They are much more useful when you get to see 20 to 30 attempts in a 5 minute clip instead of 5 to 8 throws.

Ratliff does showcase a strong arm and decent accuracy in those vid's. Has a tendecny not to step into all his throws and arm thorw a bit. Locks on to his first receiver some. Very good mobility for a QB of his size.

As for standing tall? In what, the total of three plays that showed any type of pressure and only one where a guy actually touched him? Nice for those little clips but its not exactly like it showed any of the plays where he was under duress. I'd rather see those.

I'm sure if you really wanted to you could find similar video on Clemens. He was being talked about for the hiesman before breaking his leg in his Senoir year with with 2,406 passing yards, 19 TDs, only 4 interceptions, and a 152.87 passer efficiency rating.

It will be nice to have these two battling it out in camp.

Yeah, I'd be satisfied with whoever wins the TC battle, I have a lot more faith in this coaching staff than the previous one. I only posted these videos for people who wanted to see more of Ratliff than the pre-season bombs he threw.

In the end, I think Clemens will win the battle but if he struggles (and the team struggles as a result which would likely be the case) I can see the CS giving Ratliff a shot

Yes, it is always nice to see a bit more of a prospect.

I agree I think Clemens will probly win the battle but be on a short leash. Ratliff does display some talent and has good size, but these has to be some reason he made it to UDFA. Teams that wanted to take a look had a lot of film on him. Both have displayed the arm strenght to take a shot down field and attack the deeper out pattrens.

Its all a matter of who the staff feels they have the best chance to win with and I could careless whom it is as long as we do win.

I think regardless of who has the better pre-season KC will start.
Yeah , there were a couple of throws he made in those short clips where other WRs were open than his intended targets. But I still like him too.

Everyone looks good in a highlight video.

I could make a case for being the starting QB based on my highlight videos.

How important are college highlight videos?

Here are some of Matt Cassel's college highlight reels:

Oh wait - He doesn't have any!
Seemed to do OK for the PATS last year without them.

Maybe we could dig up some old Ryan Leaf reels. I hear they were very impressive.

He looks like a smooth and fluid athlete. Strong arm, good feet and a gadgety offense somewhat similiar to some of the thing Schotty likes to run. How was this kid not drafted?

I have the same gut feeling, but I truly hope the FO starts the best QB.

If Brett looks better in preseason he better start in the regular season.

I have seen what KC brings to the table and I'm not impressed. I want Brett to win the job.

    Thanks for posting these.

I come from a school of stressing footwork at every position. I'm impressed with Ratliff's footwork despite him working in a spread offense.

I still think we need to draft a qb in round one, Sanchez or Freeman. It's pointless to spend all that money in free agency and then have practically no game experience at the most important position. A rookie would be a 3rd option in case both qb's don't work out.
