I could care less if the punter is from an unknown area or from a planet, as long as he punt well consistently

This is one of those areas I just don't understand...you've got a country full of soccer players, a world full of soccer players...there's got to be a guy out there, a bunch of guys, that can kick higher and deeper than the punters the Jets have brought in.

I went to high school with guys that kicked the ball further. I would really love somebody with Reggie Roby distance and Ray Guy hang time for once in our history.

I would highly welcome this move, as I enjoyed having Graham. His first season he was ok. When we brought him in I remember they hyped him up as being able to cause fumbles with the way he made the ball fly..it'd be cool if it worked with this guy.

    What???

This would be cool. As long as they don't get stupid like they did with Graham and try and change his kick motion.

How hard is it to kick and punt? I have a feeling Americans don't want to even try because of the stigma attached to it. I had a friend who played WR in high school, then went to the Army. After that he went to a Big 10 school, and just for the hell of it, decided to try and make the team as a kicker. He knew a guy from the Army who had kicked and had a few informal lessons from him and then practiced on his own. He never got a scholarship but he made the team and got to travel with them and even kicked a couple of times. All on just a little practice on his own. I once asked him how many people would have to die before the coach would have put him in as a WR and he said at least 20.

You have defined the perfect punter. Much easier said than done. Ray Guy was awesome and could always seem to drop the ball into where ever he wanted (yuk, a Raider). Roby had a monster leg. When ever the guy kicked the ball it made a sound that I have never heard anyone else duplicate (yuk, a Fin).

I think we will be OK at punter. Maybe not like the guys you mentioned, but I am not worried about punter - a necessity; yes; will the Jets find one?; yes.

FG and place kickers have been much more of a nemesis or enigma if you will.

    Easy Billy Madison

On topic don't care who we have as a punter as long as he can do the job adequately. Either by kicking out of bounds within 20 or giving us at least a 4.5 hang time on punts.
