Is he with Ariz? If he is a FA might make sense to bring him back...I never liked his hands but he was a good blocker

Wouldn't waste a single pick on him, not even a 7th.

There are plenty of better tight ends in the league.

He was last seen hiding under the counter at your local Cineplex.

I know he is one of the best blocking TEs in the league, but the first NFL play I ever saw live was him dropping a pass in the EZ against Pittsburgh.

No to Becht. Blocking or no blocking; the guy has cement hands.

Aren't we going to be a run first team? If I remember correctly, he was like having an extra O lineman. If his blocking is still superior, why not? It's not going to cost anything, and he will come cheap. Bubba couldn't catch a cold last season and Becht is a better blocker. I don't love Becht, but his blocking skills is what this team needs right now for the run first scheme.

If he is to be used only as a blocking TE, why not use Wayne Hunter? He can probably block better than Becht and his hands won't be any worse than him either.

I doubt he's a great blocker, otherwise he'd probably be starting. Also, he is a backup on the O line where depth is already a major concern, so you definitely don't move him to TE.

I know Becht can't catch a cold, but you wouldn't put him in on passing plays - you use him as blocker on running plays. When he played for us, he was dominant in the running game.

In this scheme, we will most likely carry 3 TE's - why not make one of them a run blocking specialist? This of course assumes that Becht is still dominant in this aspect of his game, and that he comes cheap.

If he came very cheap, could still block well, and was never asked to catch a pass it doesn't sound like such a terrible idea.

His dominate blocking days are probably in the past, but I don't think he ever got enough credit for helping Curtis get his rushing title. That is why I think the interest in Pettigrew is real.

He’s probably stranded in the parking lot of the last team that cut him; every time he takes his keys out of his pocket…he drops them on the ground…bends over to pick them up…drops them on the ground. It’s a never ending cycle.
