Orton is terrible QB in a bad division... one of our "give 'em a chance guys" is essentially Orton... spin it any way you like... this is a blown opportunity

Yep. The trouble is, we don't have anyone who had Orton's season last year. That move is a wash for them, but it's something we couldn't offer.

I really wanted Cutler, but people need to realize that we would have had to give up more than the Bears to get him. It would have had to been like:
    2009 1st
    2009 2nd
    2010 1st
    2010 3rd

Denver raped them on that trade.

Glad Tannenbaum wasn't so desperate to top that.

Would you give up your starting QB, 2 number 1s and a 3 for 3 years? Glad you aren't our GM.

On an off-topic note I'd like to thank this whole Jay Cutler fiasco for being the catalyst to get me over the totally-addicted hump. RESPECT MY AUTHORITY BITCHES!!

    Just kidding obviously.

I believe the run-first offense is what we are going to try here. Which is why we have made no serious moves to upgrade at QB.

Uh, what do you think it would have taken to get this done for us? I'm really curious, since you haven't addressed that once. Orton was playing well before his injury last season, and finished with an 18/12 TD/INT ratio despite coming back slowly from that injury.

Broncos gave up a third, not the other way around, per Clayton.

In that case, not a bad deal for the Bears at all IMO.

he has a winning record and he is a game manager. He also has a lot of new offensive weapons to play with.

the Jets needed a starting QB and they didn't have one to give Denver. There wasn't enough to give up to get Cutler.

what am I spinning?? I have facts. Orton is 21-13 and helped the Bears to get to the playoffs in 05 before Grossman came back.

The offense played better than the defense last year for the bears too.

I'd add Clemens or Ratliff on top of that too. Denver got Orton, a decent QB, back in the deal and they're also an NFC team. We were going to have to pay a premium because we really don't have either of those.

Apparently you didn't watch that great Chicago-Minnesota game. 21 of 32 for 283 yds, 2 TDs, 0 INTs. He had a string of 3 or 4 great games, and then he got hurt.

Blown opportunity to what? They gave up their starting QB and 2 1sts plus a 3rd?! I'd be pissed if we gave up that much for this walking turd of a human being.

Well, I guess all the speculation can now turn to which QB currently not on the team will be starting for the Jets next september..obviously there is one out there somewhere.
