Good for the Bears and good for us. Now we can focus on the draft and let the young QB's battle it out.

Cutler grew up a Bears fan close to Chicago in Indiana so looks like he got his wish.

I was hoping he'd land in Detroit.

None of the QB's on our roster could top Orton.

I thought TB would outbid anybody in the NFC. They tried to get him in the whole Cassell fiasco.

we didn't have a proven starter to give back... Orton has at least done well as the Bears QB.

If the Jets didn't have shit at the QB position, it would have been the same exact trade.

Then Chicago is stupid. He can walk away in 3 years and you can bet he will.

I think they traded way too much for him. I would have given 2 1st and a 4th, but this is ridiculous.

Bingo. Plus, they traded him to an NFC team. For us, it likely would have been Clemens + a second next year on top of what the Bears gave up, if not more.

I'm happy we can move on now.

Orton certainly was decent last year, but Chicago has been hung up about the QB position for years. They got what they wanted, and apparently felt it was worth the price.

Essenially they traded 2 1sts and a 3rd since Orton is being replaced anyway....

Wow, I wasn't expecting him to go at such a high price. No way denver could turn that down, great job by denver getting the best possible deal.

Wow, hope Jay is happy throwing in the Chicago winds with absolutely no reliable targets. I don't love this move for the Bears, they had something good going last year with a run-first offense based around Forte. And personally, I know people will disagree, but I would've given up 2 firsts, a third, and KC/BR for Cutler. The guys a 25-year-old franchise QB.

Yeah, but he's still going to want a new deal to go to a new team. Ridiculous, I know, but he could threaten to sit out.

Good trade for both sides. Chicago gets a franchise QB and Denver gets a boatload of draft picks and a QB that McDaniels can possibly coach up. Truth be told I always liked Orton ever since he was at Purdue. I said the market value was two firsts and a third in earlier posts so it was nice to get Orton out of the deal as well.

What sucks however is in my opinion, Denver has now opened up at 12 as a landing spot for Sanchez.
