This Washington rumor is crap..not one sports channel even has a sniff of it and this newspaper is not the biggest thing in town by anybody's imagaination. Oh, and Washington might not even have any picks to trade anyway. The Titans are claiming Washington tampered in the Hayneworth deal. That may hold up everything.

In all likelihood, a trade within the AFC would involve a lot more than those 2 #1s. I'd be thrilled if we got him for that price, but I'd rather not sell the farm for him when we very well could have a good QB on our roster.

    I really hope

the people on this site who DON'T want Cutler think long and hard about the type of player you're passing up. He has a career completion percentage of 63%. QB rating of 87.1. Best arm in the league (those winds in the Meadowlands won't effect him). Is he a little immature? Yeah probably. Is he arrogant? Yes, but tell me what great QB isn't arrogant? Everyone points to his INT total last year, but they had no defense and a merri-go-round of RB's so he probably tried to do too much.

I am ok with seeing if Clemens or Ratliff can get the job done, but ONLY after the Jets have exhausted EVERY effort to get Cutler. He's a franchise QB, folks. They don't come around that often.

I don't doubt that it is a legit article but all it says is that "they are close to a deal." Also, it says that Washington was bumped as the front runner than 5 minutes later "it changed". Who's to say it hasn't changed again? Also, we all remember the Brett Favre thing last year when everybody was reporting he was going to the Bucs and then out of no where the Jets step in

Pretty much my thoughts. I want Cutler, but I'm not willing to mortgage the future for him, and you can bet for sure that we'd have to pay at least an extra 2nd rounder or high quality player on top of what the Skins are paying to even make Denver listen to trading him in-conference.

Also, Denver would not have to go QB hunting in this year's draft if they get Campbell, who could at least be a decent game manager for them.

Exactly what people think here, is hysterical to me... 2 mid to late round first rounders is NOT selling the farm... by any means.

I guess it's the headline that is deceiving then.

I'm with ya....bunch of bullshit. They'll stumble over themselves to get a 39 year old QB but not a 25 year old one?

I'm tired of hearing "defense wins championships"....not alone it doesn't. I'm glad that Rex is happy with our QB situation. Amazing how KC couldn't do shit since he's been here to win the starting job, but suddenly since we have Rex Ryan and a defense (not sure how we have a D yet, since it's mostly the same D as last year) KC will be able to score enough points to win.

    Horse shit, I say.

I understand that but giving them a little more isn't giving them the farm. Yea we may have a good QB but we may have 3 horrible QBs on our roster. Why not get a great QB and get rid of the questions? Not to mention this team isn't exactly young either, hence why they brought in that bum last year. You can't just throw seasons away seeing if QBs are good or not.

Apparently if you're the Jets you can spend decades waiting to find a QB and that's perfectly acceptable.

    Lame.

Funny. People who don't know how to read entire posts are hysterical to me. I clearly said I'd be thrilled if we got him for 2 #1's. If Washington is giving 2 #1's plus Jason Campbell, and Denver would prefer to trade Cutler to the NFC, what do you think we'd have to give up to top the Skins' offer? I'd say "selling the farm", as I defined it, means significantly more than those 2 first rounders.

Guys I'm out of the loop the past few days on the Cutler news, I've been working midnights. Are the Jets even noted to be serious players in the trade talks at this point?

Denver at Washington on Sunday Night Football in Week 2. Make this happen, NFL schedule makers.

    I'm fine with this.

We have been systematically getting older by trading draft picks and signing free agents and that situation would have gotten worse by trading additional picks. The qb market in the draft is good, and we have some players here that can compete. Plus, a Cutler trade would have left a huge hole at wide receiver.

Yeah it is deceiving. Reporters always rush to report things without anything being official. I really hope it's not a done deal and that the Jets are still involved in the trade discussions.

No point in having a receiver if you can't get him the ball.

I can't imagine there is any way Denver wants Campbell. That's like saying "we will take your QB HCoached team's QB castoff because we know you gave up on him for our pro bowl QB stud". I don't think so.
