Cutler was more disappointed with the lack of professionalism on the Broncos part, from the front office down. From the handling of the Shanahan firing, to McDaniels coming in. He certainly has created a media circus around this, but his basic problems with the organization are understandable. Cutler has a breakout year and you decide to fire the coach who helped him have that season. I think he would fit in fine here, just need some training to deal with the NY media.
@Johnny D Love how your mention of Revis got two pages worth of posts. Any chance you can say something that will spur the economy?
Of course we should negotiate. I'm certain we're on the phone right now. The Jets had a rumored deal on the table. If the Broncos think that releasing the news that he's to be dealt will boost the number or size of offers, they're crazy. I wouldn't be surprised to see a deal done quickly.
Not when your secondary is getting shredded to pieces because you dealt your best CB and defensive player on the team.
They're arguing that this constitutes the actual news referred to in the thread title. Technically, they have a point.
Didn't you just say there's very little chance we'll get him? Anyway, they said the same thing about us getting Favre last year. Tanny will get him if that's the direction they want to go in.
I say we give Denver the equivalent of what KC gave up for a "franchise" QB. Give them our 2nd round pick, plus Bryan Thomas, plus maybe a 4th to even out the fact that we're not picking at the top of the 2nd round like KC was If we have to give up anything more than that, I'm not interested
as you guys know we are obviously one of the teams interested in him... i understand the chances of getting him arent that high but when tanny wants someone hell go for them...i.e last year faneca, jenkins, pace, favre...even this year...lito sheppard, bart scott, jim leonhard.. i just hope if he really wants cutler that bad, that rex ryan shares that same feeling because a coach and his qb NEED to get along as we all saw what happened in denver. as important, we cannot trade anyone valuable to our team..i say future picks but not 1st rounders...if tanny can squeeze of a deal where we can get cutler and keep our 1st round pick this year so we can get a receiver, we may be ok
I don't know why but that picture doesn't mix well with me. We should just let Clemens/Ratliff/A Vet battle it out The personnel on this squad doesn't fit Cutler's style I think. Sure we got Cotchery and Keller but having a guy like Brandon Marshall made this guy look like a superstar at times, Cutler makes too many mistakes in my eyes, something the Jets shouldn't be looking at. Plus all our valuable picks are gone and i'm content on keeping my 1st rounder and my 4th along with others next year.
Jenkins is the best defensive player on the team. Just look at 2007 defensive rank vs. 2008 defensive rank. Revis was already here. The difference was the Jinx.
I did say that. I don't think there's much chance of us landing him, but if we do, I'd expect it to happen quickly. We had a rumored deal on the table, and I don't think we go beyond that for him. I think Ryan's faith in our current QBs is genuine, but we'll obviously take Cutler if he comes at the price we were already comfortable with. I'm just not so certain that the Broncos will take it. The fact that they came out and released this publicly should limit Cutler's value, but it also says that they're ready to move right away. If the Jets truly had an offer on the table, it could be used to draw out more value from a team with more to offer.
