are you serious, he didnt even have two years starting expierence at USC where he obviously had superior athletes to use as weapons. I could see him mature into a good qb maybe if he was taken by like the seahawks or a team like that with an aging veteran where he wouldnt be asked to start until at least year 3. IMO
HA, I like that. ^^ I just don't see us doing D in the 1st round. I've said before, we have done plenty in the off-season to address the D and it's time for the O to be addressed. I think deep down Rex isn't confident in our QBs. EDIT, this was in response to your 1st post, sorry bud.
I would rather trade down than up. We have traded up the last couple of years and it has served us well with Revis, Harris and Keller. However, we have lost a lot of mid round picks that give you depth and future starters. We have had good luck in the 4th round especially. Actually, I would love to trade out of the 1st completely, pick up a high #2 (33-39) and a #1 next year. I just don't like the talent where we are drafting unless they love Freeman or Moreno.
I really agree! I think we can address all our needs with picks in the low first round, 2 and 3. We need our lower picks for depth which is what we truly lack. It would be awesome to trade our pick at 17 for detroit 20 & their 1st 3rd rounder... but I don't think it's going to happen
I think Detroit's #20 is a realistic idea, however, I'd rather try and make the move and snag it without giving up our #17. 2nd rounder, 4th rounder and a 3rd in 2010? Vonte Davis would still be there I think and would be worth it.
Yes, but its also off about 300 points using the trade value chart. Its been linked in this thread so use it if you want to try and make a more realistic proposal idea. Remember that picks from a year later are usually downgraded one round on the value chart.
I understand that, but, on draft day those numbers really aren't used I don't think. If the offer sounds good enough and looks like both teams are happy, the trade will happen regardless of those numbers. If Detroit wants more picks later on, I think Woody would be very happy in moving up like he did last year. Speaking of that, what was the offical trade that got us Dustin Keller last year? Were the numbers close?
Well last year the #19 pick was traded for a 2nd a 4th and a 2009 1st. That means the 2009 1st was valued almost exactly the same as the #57 in the same year. So yeah they do stay pretty close to the chart, and since outside of the top 5 there is always someone looking to move up when it strays from the chart teams tend to have to give up more than chart value to move up not less. So no your trade offer is fairly ridiculous, the pick next year would have to be at keast a 2nd , but in all likelihood a first.
