I do live in San Jose, and yes it was 5:55 in the morning when the pick before mine was submitted. I was up around 7 (thats 10AM by you guys) this morning to make sure that I could get my pick in. Sorry that there were 4 guys lined up, but this draft isnt a race that we have turned it into. I have 3 hours to make a pick, but was only given 40 minutes. All im saying is that there are rules laid out for a reason, and if were arent even going to follow them, whats the point?

I was here a little over 1 hour after the last pick, not 2 1/2 hours later. You wouldnt have been waiting long.

  3. GH Just made a helluva pick in Loadholdt for NE. You stick that guy at RT for the Pats and the results could be SCARY. There will be huge holes for Marroney. Great value and fills a big need.

Like I said...I'll take the blame, I assumed MR E had your board. MR E made your pick at 9:35 EST.........your first post I saw was at Approx 11:50...almost 2 1/2 hours.

I'm sorry for the problems caused. I can understand why you're upset. I've always considered you a great member of this community.

Even though we have rules, I state in the rules don't take all 3 hours, Pm your boards. If everyone took 3 hours to pick, this draft would be impossible.

I have always had fun running this draft, but not this year. I try to tighten the reins and it causes problems...it's a no win situation.

I may consider not running the draft next year and let someone else be Commish.

Yea, I know what you mean. Being a commish of a league, the guy in charge of awards, and even being a freakin manager of a damn softball team can get stressful and a pain in the ass, so I know what you mean. Being the commish is a choice your going to have to make. This draft is your baby, and I dont see you giving that up next year, just my 2 cents....

I wasnt going to take 3 hours. I saw the pick had been made, and left. Im not angry, im just annoyed and disappointed because before this year I have never missed a pick. It seems this year we are trying to go light speed and arent stopping for anything. Its not a huge problem, its just something that may need to be addressed and tweaked so next year something like this doesnt happen.

And sorry it went down this way, and I appreciate the respect you have for me. The feeling is mutual.

Holy shit, guys. Jeremy Maclin and Donald Brown? Is this draft rigged?

If the Jets land both those guys without having to trade up for either, I will jizz in my pants.

    Thanks MC

Crazy thing is my first instinct was to keep loading up on defense ... I'm Just very excited about Rex Ryan trying to bring a dominant defense to the Jets and I wanted to help him out .. but I'm also a big BAP man (within reason) and that side of me could not justify passing on Jeremy Maclin and Donald Brown, especially when we DO NOT have a #1 Wideout and Thomas Jones is 31 Y/O (an age where RB's normally decline, even great ones)

Jones is also whining about his contract and due a big roster bonus if he's still here next year

So all things considered there was just no way I could justify passing on that value with Maclin & Brown

I love Maclin, but I think we have more pressing needs than RB. Great value pick, though.

Maclin would make me shit my pants. He's regarded as the second best reciever in the draft, and my personal board has him better then Crabtree. But that's neither here nor there, I don't think in the real draft he'll fall otherwise he'd be a perfect fit. Lots of good players still available in the final stretch of round 2.

I would rather draft a RB now rather than to wait until we NEED to draft one in 1 year. Maybe even this year.

IMO, better RBs this year than next year. CBs will be weak at the top of next year's draft..........Safeties will be strong.

Next year's draft is going to be the best in 10 years......it's going to be awesome. A smart team would try to get more 2010 picks on draft day this year. I have a feeling Belichicken is going to do just that.......he has the ammo this year with ton's of picks.

I'd hate for the Patriots to get Barwin at 23. 2 Picks before my phins. Is it even likely with people like Clint Sintim still on the board?

Hope I'm doing OK for your Phins????

I really wanted to get a WR by now, but no good value in rd 2.

Sean Smith, Clint Sintim and Lawrence Sidbury....will improve your defense.

Secondary needs help, and Joey Porter is getting up there in age.

Marks is a good pick for Carolina. They're in a tough position without a first rounder and needing DL help more than anything. I wouldn't be shocked to see a trade up, or to take a DE when they trade J-Pepp
