If Bonds doesn't get voted into the Hall of Fame, the Baseball Writers association is a joke. Just kidding! They're already a joke.
I bet he took it because everybody else was taking it because somebody said it would help you hit like McGuire. It was easy enough to get since its not an anabolic steroid and was available over the counter. The fact is the hype about andro (that it gave you anabolic results without it being an anabolic) was overblown bullshit, as peer reviewed medical studies of the stuff have show that it didn't do what the marketing claimed it would do. Even up to doses of 300mgs DAILY, it did JACK SHIT in building muscle mass. Real anabolic are usually taken in doses of 300mgs a WEEK. Andro is bullshit. Piazza and everybody else who wasted their money on Andro would of been better of swilling Roger Clemens ball sweat to see performance gains.
I'd vote for Bonds no question about it. He was a Hall of Famer before he got all roided up and goofy. As for McGwire- NO. With steroids, his numbers aren't good enough to me. If he wasn't hitting a home run, he basically wasn't doing anything. He was practically Russell Branyan with more at-bats.
Didn't we Yankees fans tell certain Mets fans not to throw too many stones because some day it will come out that Piazza used? Dave, I get it. We all tried to find ways to skirt the argument for ARod and Pettitte, and even for the others to smaller degree. It's natural to look for ways to defend "your guys." It is what it is though, and it's what most of us Yankees fans started saying once ARod was outed. Everybody has been doing it for a long time. Hell, at this point, I wouldn't even be surprised if Schilling was doing it, but knows he never tested positive so he can open his mouth. The last 20 years of baseball is just one big *. At this point, there's no legitimate reason to keep Bonds out of the Hall. I agree with Cakes too. Big Mac doesn't deserve to be in, but Bonds surely does.
Bonds is his own worst enemy. If he acted more like a human being and less like a loud mouthed asshole he might still have a chance. As it is nobody can stand the fuck.
ahh so the new angle is that if Canseco didnt inject you youre innocent? You are so blind in your love for a team who hasnt won jack shit in 25 years
who cares about this exactly? (I didn't care about Arod or Clemens doing it either) doesn't change my opinion about any of them
Your reasoning is backwards. Even if Canseco told the truth 100% of the time, this doesn't mean he's omniscient. You're not claiming that Canseco needed to know about a player using in order for it to be true, are you? Dude, just accept it and get over it. Whether you definitively know about them or not, it's a certainty that several/many of your favorite players used PEDs.
I half agree with you. His problem is that he always hated the media. He was good to the fans. He just hated the way the media works (and he was never wrong about that.) His reputation is based more on the smear campaign run by the media because he wouldn't fellate them before and after every game. People dislike him and weren't forgiving of his steroid use because the media made sure of it. This is really what it's starting to come down to. As more names are outed, you'll see this opinion grow. People will stop being "outraged" and just throw their hands up and say "Well, I guess it is true that everybody was doing it." It's a little bit saddening, but it's just the reality of the sport in the post-strike era.
And yet no one blinks in the NFL where 270 lb. freak shows run 40 yards in less than five seconds and bench press 225 lbs 40+ times.
Haha, ain't that the truth! Also, you never see any of the fans freak out about NFL players who get busted. Nothing like you see about baseball players, and the introduction of PEDs to football is far more threatening, at least in a person-to-person sense, than in baseball. In baseball you knock an inanimate object into next week, in football, you knock a person to it.
There are alot of jealous players and fans of Mike Piazza. Notice there was no name associated with the quote when Mike was quoted by Mr. Anonymous as saying "sure, I use". If he said it, why not put your name with the quote Mr. Anonymous? And wtf is Reggie Jefferson? Unless Piazza was roiding from day 1 in the majors, it's doubtful he cycled on the juice in his career. His numbers are remarkably consistent and his dropoff in his mid 30s is to be expected due to his physical breakdown from catching daily. Additionally, the fall off started years before testing began, so if he was using, why did he stop roiding if there was no testing at the time? Nothing lines up.
I could give a shit at this point. I just find it funny when met fans shit on the yankees, when really they should look at their own team.
