Mangini is only a coach and as such has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Imo, the cost being talked about sounds too high.

Yeah. Delayed or otherwise, as I said before, I'd be pissed if that's what it took and we pulled the trigger.

I don't understand these reports from fans calling him a whiny baby.
Where did we get this from?
    The Media
The Same Media who always blames the players and never the owners (unless it's Jerry Jones) for a teams demise
Unless Cutler is banging your sister, none of us in here know him, so for fans to call him names is foolish
Denver fucked and now they are trying to use the media to discredit him when it was they who brought this situation where it is.
I don't want to hear from any ex player criticizing him. Especially since these fucks still get some kickback from the NFL. They are being paid to say those things.

I do whatever it takes to get him in Green and White. Looking at that draft that means we would've wound up with Brick, Mangold and Cutler. We're talking about getting a proven Pro Bowler not yet in his prime at a position we have a great need for and not a great spot in the draft. This is a no-brainer to me.

Maybe it all comes from Cutler getting angry and demanding a trade? It's a fucking business and he's under contract. Now he's whining because they aren't selling it to him the right way. It's a crybaby thing to do and your post is pretty retarded anyway. I'm seeing a trend there. You're basically being a Cutler fanboy, because you want the Jets to trade for Cutler.

To me, this is the best post so far. The guy is a big time whiner. You may have hit the nail on the head with him wanting out because Shanahan got fired. He is put himself above the team by saying that he shouldn't be traded. And now he wants to be traded. Which is it? Every NFL player should know that they can be traded at any time.

Who the heck needs such a crybaby? I saw one post game interview after the Broncos lost and he didn't want to answer any questions. All he was doing was giving one word answers like yes, no, and shrugging his shoulders. Obviously, the guy got too big of an ego and it does come across as a douche bag.

17 Mar Jets need to stay away from Cutler!!!

Why wouldn?t the Jets want a young gunslinging QB? The reason is because it goes totally against what this new regime is trying to put in place. Rex Ryan believes in winning football games by controlling the ball and playing balls to the wall defense.

Jay Cutler is a young Brett Favre. Both need to throw the ball all game long, and both need to be the center of attention. While I think Cutler is a good young QB who with the right coach could learn how to play smart football is just not that guy right now. Rumors are he has a bad attitude at times? how will that work out in NY??? Not good. The Jets receiving corps are made for a precision passing game, while Cutler?s game & arm are perfect for a vertical passing game a la Detroit or Minnesota.

Here?s the deal. The Jets should not mortgage their future on this guy. They need to use their draft picks to build towards the future. Cutler?s a good QB and will be for a long time. He?s just not the right fit for this team.

If Jets fans want Jersey sales, PSL?s to sell, then they?ll get Cutler. Otherwise, they?ll build from within.

Don?t forget folks that Tom Brady developed throwing the ball a few times a game, mostly horizontal. The Pats barely threw the ball over 5 yards in his first year. Same with Big Ben.

What does this organization want? The last decade has been full of SuperBowl champs that have won with a dominating running game, defense, and a mistake free QB. Look it up!

This stadium isn?t designed for an air attack, like it or not, the Jets need an identity and the power game is where we?re going!

and what has CUTLER won as a FRANCHISE QB to date? He plays in a weak division. He compiles stats because all he does is throw. He has been 8 and 8 and 9 and 7. WOW! Trade our future away for this beast!

Jets want in on Cutler sweepstakes

Jay Cutler | Broncos | Interested: Browns? Titans? Buccaneers? Bears? Jets?

With the NFL owners meetings in full swing in California, sources have confirmed to Gary Myers of the New York Daily News that the New York Jets are strongly in pursuit of Denver Broncos quarterback Jay Cutler. While no package has yet been developed because the Broncos still think they can smooth things over, Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum told the Broncos to let him know when they'll start accepting offers, because the Jets are set to produce a strong proposition for the Pro Bowler.

Although some in the media have suggested that the Jets will focus on improving their defense for 2009, while retaining a run-first, conservative offense thanks to the hiring of former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan as head coach, it is no secret that the Ravens have quarterback Joe Flacco to thank for much of their success in 2008. So in spite of the many changes that will happen on the defensive side of the ball for the Jets, Ryan would certainly be interested in bringing in another young and productive quarterback to handle the offense's reins, as opposed to rolling the dice with Kellen Clemens or Brett Ratliff. Unless the team intends on trading up in the draft, they will be out of the running for Matthew Stafford and Mark Sanchez, and in spite of some declaring he is the second coming of Daunte Culpepper, Josh Freeman is expected to need up to two years to mentally prepare for a role as an NFL starter.

The problem for the Jets in acquiring Cutler is that they don't have a quarterback to send back to Denver in return. It's likely, then, that any trade that makes Cutler a member of Gang Green would have to involve a third team, with the Jets sending some draft picks and/or players to this third team, the third team sending a quarterback to the Broncos and the Broncos sending Cutler to the Jets. Here's a hint: such a third team rhymes with "Jeveland Towns", and the coach of this team used to work for the Jets.

What makes Cutler a "franchise QB" again?

Is it the 18 INTs he threw last year or the fact that he plays 4 combined games against KC and Oakland every year. We dont have anyone as good as Marshall on our team so who is he going to throw it to every other pass? In fact, really its Marshall who we would love to have and who we need.

If we are excited about a guy who throws 18 INTs then that person is probably already on our roster and comes much cheaper.

And Drew Brees didn't make the playoffs with the most talented team in football a couple of years ago and Rivers has done squat with a great team around him.

Gholston was our future last year how did that work out. Lam Jones, Richard Todd, Blair Thomas were all our future at one time or another as was O'Brien, Pennington, D'Fat, the list is endless. It's not a coincidence that the last big time QB we drafted was in 65 and the last SB we won was in 68.

there's some conflicting opinions out there regarding the Jets potential involvement with Cutler....case in point.

    http://stations.espn.go.com/stations/1050espnradio/blog?id=3480300&post=4006906

the fact this guy doesn't know how to spell Ratliff's name.....doesn't reinforce his journalistic credability with me. I'm hoping Tanny makes a play for Cutler....

except why would Denver want to discredit their QB -- it only makes the situation worse for him within the organization and reduces his value with other teams. if the Broncos want to keep him, they need to soothe his feelings, and if they want to trade him, they need to inflate him, not discredit him. that makes no sense.

and ESPN's credibility continues to decline. one, it wasn't DeWayne Robertson, it was Brick, and two, this is the first time I've ever heard the Jets tried to trade up for Leinert.
