Of course Cutler is the more proven QB compared to the options in the draft. At one point in time Warren Moon was a more established QB than Troy Aikman. I already said that one of Cutler's strengths right now is the fact that he is established as an NFL player and I know you didn't come here to tell me what I said. I know the things I've said because, and see if you can follow me on this one here...I'm the one who said them. I can see what you're saying here but I'm just not that high on Sanchez to be comfortable with him as an option. If he stayed around USC for another year then I'd be a little happier seeing him in green. His footwork is shoddy and the fact that he was surrounded by so much talent at USC with such limited experience as a starter could be masking some flaws that could kill his game in the NFL.
That response actually wasn't meant for you. It was meant for the post below yours by LTJF but then that was before I read his comment about Gholston and figured it was a joke.
At first I thought he was finally making sense, for once, but then realized it was only cheap sarcasm. I just don't think this deal gets done, which makes it hard to get too excited talking about it.
It makes sense. They should be interested. Ratliff and Clemens are question marks. Not saying I dont like them but Cutler is one of the best young players in the NFL who plays a posistion where we all know its hard to find that great player or franchise player. Cutler could be that.
I'm not sure how I feel about Cutler to the Jets anymore, but I bet this is a bunch of hype for nothing and he ends up playing for Denver or an NFC team.
That's what I'm saying. When they're talking all-weather offense, it should take a huge load off the guy.
I think we're gonna end up being a "backpocket" option for Denver. We'll make a trade offer they can live w/..but they will do everything in their power to get overpaid for Cutler and/or move him to NFC team. If they dont get what they're looking for..around draft day they'll be back in contact w/ mr. T.
cutler is a mistake for the jets this guy cant handle one trade rumor, how can he handle the ny media
They are not trading him for only draft choices. They need a starting QB to replace him and Mangini is not gonna help us. C'mon people, we are not getting Cutler for a 1st and 3rd and Clemens, they would throw the new coach out of town with the owner. W
If Tanny pulls this trade off I predict I will change my handle to M4dd3nb4um5ux within a season or two at the outside.
I'm not going to get excited about this until I see how much it would cost us. Although I still feel Clemens deserves a shot behind our new line and with a solid running game, and am optimistic that he can perform well enough to help us win, I'm not going to lie and say that having Cutler wouldn't be exciting. Still, it is just one position. If we have to sacrifice 4+ draft picks, I'm not going to be thrilled. I don't see us getting him for less than two 1s and a 3 without the Browns on board, and I'm not sure Mangini puts THAT high of a premium on the players we think he'd want.
Maybe he's been wanting out since they axed his coaching staff and this was the perfect opportunity to make his feelings be known to make the Broncos look like morons. Granted, he looks like an unbelievable douche himself but the Broncos look don't look too bright themselves.
We may be able to delay the 1st rounder until next year, but I dont think they would want any part of KC. A 1st, 2nd, and 3rd are likley picks that we would need to part with, hopefully two of the picks are held off until next year.
The only problem is that the value of delayed picks is much lower than the value of current picks. I'd be surprised if they take fewer than 4 picks if we delay more than one.
