I'll have to disagree with you on the Cutler discussion. Now if it was Leftwich or Jeff Garcia, guys with limited upside, I agree with keeping what we have.

Cutler is too good to pass up, like I said, within reason!!

Why the hell did we keep three back-up QB's last year if we are not going to give any of them a chance now! If we trade for Cutler who's to say he won't throw a hissy fit with us next - if he's that good, we won't be able to afford him. If we can afford him, he's not good enough!

I just want Cutler to sign with another team so this nonsense can end.

well we are gonna play in the medowlands next season I dont think moving a couple of hundred feet makes that much of a difference

I agree though that we need to find a QB on the roster

no I don't agree--I say we should try to acquire Cutler for players the jets have, and not picks. The jets have traded away way too many picks and gotten burned (can you say Dwayne Robertson?). Offer a cheap package of players for Cutler (like Thomas Jones, Clemens, Bryan Thomas caliber players ), and if the Broncos say no (likely) go with Ratty.

It is, but take away that play and nobody would be saying crap about this guy. I don't know why people are so obsessed with this guy. I mean I want to see him succeed, but everyone think we're supposed to be "due" for the next Tom Brady or something. I agree with Kaiser in that we're obsessing about Cutler too much, but I wouldn't bank on Ratliff either.

the problem isnt simple at all.

I for one, do not want Cutler.

I would like to give both Clemens and Ratliff a shot.
    Let them battle for it.

If they fail, we will be able to grab a QB in 2010.
I hope we dont have to and the answer lies in either of them.

They also traded picks to get Revis, Harris and Mangold among others.

I'm rooting for Ratliff myself, and I don't want another trade for a QB. But I'd be open to drafting one.

This pass is a perfect example of the Situation. It?s a really nice pass, right on the money, but on the other hand, it?s a pretty easy one. There?s no pressure whatsoever, and Clowney got great seperation. There aren?t many situations in the Regular season, where both things happen. Can Ratliff also make that throw, when he got a DE in his Face, and he?s got to squeeze it into a much smaller window, because Clowney could only get 1 yard seperation instead of 3?

Ratliff obviously got some talent, but noone knows, how he will work out against a real D. Cutler is a Franchise-QB, and those don?t come often, if there?s a chance we can get our hands on him, we gotta do it, even thou, there?s a chance, that Ratliff will be one.

    Totally agree, Kaiser.

    Give the reins to Ratliff.

Use the draft to build more defense, get another playmaker on offense, some O- and D-Line depth.

We're using the Ravens/old Giants formula of defense first...

Not interested in Cutler at this time if it means giving up our first, a third and a player.

Haha, why do I feel like Columbo just said that? I always loved that avatar. Anyway, tell us how you really feel. :)

The reason I don't want Cutler is because I hate his face. I really do. I want to punch him in his pie-hole. That's just about as good a reason as any to not go after him.

Sure. BUT, he had all day to throw, and he did underthrow it. If Clowney wasn't 6 miles ahead of his defense, it might have been broken up. Great play, but lets not get crazy about it.

If someone?s that wide open, you just don?t want to overthrow him, that?s why those balls are usually a little short.

I would like nothing more than to see Brett Ratliff succeed on the Jets. However, Jay Cutler is a 25 year-old pro-bowl QB. In a league with a lot of subpar QBs, that's pretty hard to turn down.

I think the Jets will keep Ratty and will fight to draft Sanchez, whether it be at 17 or at 9. But the scenario might turn up that we get Cutler for Ratliff and that 17th pick. And that'll be hard to turn down.

It's doubtful, but maybe the Broncs will do us a favor and just take Clemens :p

Really? I don't think I've ever heard that explanation, honestly. I thought when you had a burner open you wanted to air it out and let him catch up to it.
