Ok, I missed that being the argument. In that case, I agree with you.

I am with you on this, but it's a question of degree. If it were Derek Andersen we're talking about, I'm not for it. I do think Clemens or Ratliff would be capable with enough talent surrounding them... at least, they are both worth the shot. And I'm not for Cutler if the price is outrageous (multiple picks, mortgaging the future, including Revis or Leon or some other such nonsense).

But if Cutler is available at a decent price and really wants to come here, again, a question of degree. If this guy straightens out his attitude and settles into really good football, he could be the missing ingredient we need to take us all the way.

Yes, I hope this comes true. Get Cutler and sign Holt for 2-3 years. Also you almost have to go after him just to keep him away from Buffalo. This division isn't getting any easier and as much as I like Ratliff, niether him or Clemens are going to get it done.

Im all for Cutler but what has he gotten done so far in his career. Ratliff was never given a chance. Clemens was and he failed.

Clemens also had a terrible o-line and was given a chance during a pathetic season. Still, I want Cutler.

no way denver gets rid of cutler for the 17th and another pick. it will cost the jets more than that, but for a franchise qb, you have to do it if the opportunity presents itself...

You guys who don't want Cutler because the Jets have Clemens, are, how can I say this nicely, fucking retarded.

ummm, to claim to know more about football than mcdaniels is being more than a bit brash, it's closer to be comical.

mcdaniels was coached by bb. who coached you again????

This is what he has done.

G GS Comp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Int Sck SckY Rate
    2008 Denver Broncos 16 16 384 616 62.3 4,526 7.3 25 18 11 69 86.0
    2007 Denver Broncos 16 16 297 467 63.6 3,497 7.5 20 14 27 153 88.1
    2006 Denver Broncos 5 5 81 137 59.1 1,001 7.3 9 5 13 85 88.5

So the real question is what has Clemens and Ratliff done?

I thought you had had enough of self-obsessed and overrated quarterbacks?

Thank you for saying it nicely. Some were afraid you'd say it harshly.

They did have a stable back field before last year. But they suffered so many injuries in the backfield last season. The bright spot them in the back field was Peyton Hillis the rookie. But this offseason they signed some RB back ups or combo backs like Buckhalter and I think they signed Lamont Jordan too But he is injury prone. So getting TJ would put a stable RB in their back field.

I wouldn't do Revis straight up for him.

I like the idea of our 2009 and 2010 firsts. You don't find players like Cutler very often.

If he's available, Tanny HAS to go get him.

Yeah I don't think I'd give up Revis for Cutler either. The D is going to be just fine, and there's no reason to negate that. I'd rather snore through a year of Clemens than give up Revis.

Yeah, no way would I give up Revis. I'd much rather, like you said, give up 2 firsts for Cutler.

What about this idea... A first this year... 3rd next and David Harris for Cutler. Harris is a great LB, but with the signing of Scott we can afford to dangle him out there. I would rather trade purely picks for Jay if possible unless we were giving up someone like Bryan Thomas to Cleveland, but if Harris is what it takes to get Cutler in New York, I'd probably do it.

Am I reading your post correctly? You'd rather give up a 1st, a 3rd and Harris than give up one Revis?

I don't want to give up Revis with a bunch of picks. If it was straight up then yeah, it would have to be done as much as I like Darrelle. To package him with a 1st rounder + more would be silly, though.
