Imagine Matt Jones, Brad Smith, and Chansi Stuckey...all lined up in the same backfield -- they're all former QBs...we could call it the Tri-Kat Offense. It's realistic.
Since we really have no WRs anyway (exception Jerricho) why not? Jones/Jerricho/Clowney/Stuckey/Smith/Wright....develop (Henery and a mid-to-late round draft pick) in camp.
I pray you were sarcastic with that. there might be no easier place in the country to find blow than NYC
With all the potential I think it's worth the risk. The worst that could happen is we cut him and let one of the young guys step in. He's what we need from a physical standpoint - Tall and Fast. Nice compliment to Cotchery.
I remember all that potential they told us about with Bryan Thomas. He's still got 'potential'. Unrealized potential is about as valuable as a foot-high pile of bird shit.
He's 6'6 220 with speed - 65 catches for 761 yards in 12 games isn't bad at all. If he signs a league minimum contract, I'd be all for the signing.
The guy's always in trouble. He's a wasted talent. Sad story. I wanted us to get him in that draft. I'd be real surprised if we brought him in with the character problems and all. We're really not known for picking up guys like him.
On a risk/reward analysis I think Jones would be worth the pick. Jones did violate his probation from the incident with him using coke, however, he was not sniffing coke again, he had been having a couple beers at a golf out. It's not excusable, but it isn't awful either. He can def. help out our receiving corps and is a big target for whoever is out qb next season.
