Today Rex Ryan, Mike Pettine, Henry Ellard and an older white gentleman who seemed to be part of the staff (might have been front office) were flying out of Newark airport from the same terminal as me. They were headed to Cincinatti; I've spent most of the day trying to figure out why but couldn't put it together. I would've asked them but they were having a conversation about how good Bill Belicheck is at evaluating talent and I didn't want to interrupt. Also Pettine and the old guy were praising Bill Callahan pretty highly for a while. Just thought some people might get a kick out of that.
This may be a stretch.. Ryan's 1st DIv 1 job was with Morehead St..They are playing UL in hoops in Dayton, not too far from Cincy. OSU is also playing in Dayton. No direct ties to the school, but he is from Oklahoma... Petine was grad assistant at Pitt..who are also in Dayton
Cincy could have been a layover to some other place, too. Or he could have been making his way to Santa Claus, Ind. to see Jay. You just never know. I don't know what time you saw Rex...he skipped out on an interview today on ESPN Radio's Colin Cowherd.
Cincinnati defensive back Mike Mickens' pro day is on Thursday, March 19. That doesn't explain why Ellard would have to be there.
Great info Cakes--I can see Ellard making a recommendation on how a WR might beat the kid etc. Still, could be anything.
Cincinnati is also a secondary Delta hub. They may have been going somewhere else. Lots of planes go through there on the way to the northwest.
