DISCLAIMER- I did not check to see if this thread has been done already. Sorry for all the folks who hate the thought that there may be duplicate threads. So, has anyone ever gone to the draft? I've thought about going for the last few years, but I enjoy listening to the commentary, seeing the highlight clips, and logging on to check the stats and analysis of people drafted. That said, am I missing something by not going to the draft at least once?
Anyone who considers themselves a true fan of the game of football should go to at least one draft in their lifetime. I went to Tag's last draft as commisioner when the Jets drafted Mangold and Brick. The only thing you are missing out on is Mel kiper and those guys. I actually like listening to them though. They have highlight clips and even do some player interviews inbetween picks. Go! You won't regret it. Bring lots of friends and a camera.
Nice perspective. I think I may go this year, if for no other reason than the rumors of possible pulling the draft out of NYC.
It is free they have 2 guys each from the G Men & the Jets that sign free autographs. Last year I got Leon & Rhodes & Bradshaw was there from the G Men as well. You better go early I got there at like 7 for a 12 start & I sat in the upper deck.
I guess they did double duty. They also did Dave and Busters last year in Time Square. I got Leon, K-Rhodes, Revis, Walker, Bowens, Miller autos. I hope they do it this year too.
I can't imagine why they would want to pull the draft out of NY. That is where headquarters is. Same nonsense as rotating the pro bowl I guess. Wait until they pull it out of Hawaii and not a single player shows up.
