I dont really have a lot to say since. Anyway since the time 2009 mocks were started (some even before the 2008 draft) there have been risers and fallers. But for the sake of this thread fallers are the topic. So my question is. Of all the fallers in the draft, who do you still believe is good or is being overlooked? Im focusing more on big fallers, so a drop from a top 20 prospect to a 2nd rounder, not like a 2-3 round guy who is now like a 3rd rounder. Thoughts?
One player that stands out......Jasper Brinkley...... injuries hurt his stock. IMO, he could have been a late 1st rd pick if he was never hurt, the kid has game. He may sneak into late rd 2, but more likely a solid rd 3 pick.
He apparently put on an awful Pro-Day. I could see Nicks falling to the mid 2nd round, but not to 52.
Yeah Im not really referring to a guy like Nicks who had a bad pro day but more so like Will Moore who completely fell off after being a consensus top 20 pick
Love Willy Moore. He coulda been a top 10 pick. Wheres he projected now? We should definitely pluck him in the 3rd. Wouldn't be sad if we did in the second either.
Duke Robinson At one time he was considered a borderline TOP 20 Pick, now he seems like a consensus Middle 2, and IMO he will be a steal in that area .. I think he has a chance to be an "All Pro" caliber OG, and the kind you love to have as a fan, the kind coaches love too, that BIG/ROAD GRADER kind that kicks @$$ and takes names
Andre Smith OT.dude was a top 10 lock before the combine, showed terrible work ethic not wanting to participipate or show up to most drills. Early 2nd round steal.
Duke Robinson really hurt his stock in the National Championship with a couple of penalties. A lot of pro-scouts were turned off by his performance in that game.
No doubt, E, he didn't do himself any favors there on the big stage, and certainly his failure to workout for scouts hasn't helped either, both contributing to his slide, but if you look at his whole body or work at Oklahoma he was a dominant player for the most part .. I mean mostly he was manhandling people on the inside So I understand why he's fallen and I think it's justified, but I also think someone might snag a massive/dominant Road Grader in the middle of RD 2 .. I think that's a really good value pick with a huge upside in that area of the draft
I like Phil Loadholdt alot. He may not be Tony Bosselli, but he can certainly be Leon Searcy. He just WRECKS people on running plays and has the feet to be very good at RT.
Duke Robinson is the kind of second rounder that you wouldn't mind trading up to make sure you get. Without immediate need at the guard position, I wouldn't be ecstatic about the Jets grabbing him, but he will be a great lineman for someone in the league.
I've heard some bad things about him so I'm not so sure about that. I'll try to dig the info up. EDIT: There were some questions about character (game suspension) and work habits. He had the tendency to gain fat and get soft in the off season. But Robinson showed up to the Oklahoma pro day in great shape and looked really good. So maybe the light has finally clicked on for him. His play on the field surely isn't a problem. Robinson is one of the top guards in the draft.
William Moore is really the main guy that comes to mind, i still like him as a prospect and hestill could be the best safety in this class, if we didnt sign Leonhard i would like him as a potential 2nd round pick for us.
BTW, I sould have mentioned Shonn Greene, but it totally slipped my mind Not too long ago he was a consensus late 1 or early 2, now he's a consensus mid to late 2 He is the #1 Guy on my board of fallers who can still be outstanding players in the pros, ahead of Duke Robinson who I previously mentioned
